Reflecting on the VeeDub scene with Spoon recently. Hey, 'member when it was all about aftermarket bumpers, aftermarket lights, "DTM", and color matched EVERYTHING? Get you an RS bumper, some smoked dual rounds, blacked out tails, upturned exhaust tips, and color matched door handles and mirrors on your MK3 and you were a cool f'ing guy back then. And remember when you couldn't get a set of coils for under a grand? $1000 Weitechs were the "cheap" coils.

Now we've replaced that with a grip of air fresheners, undersized tires on stock sized wheels, air ride, $500 coils, "stance", and a back window full of stickers.

Hey, anyone have a recommendation for some really good jack stands? I'd like to relegate my ~10 year old Kragen specials to backups here pretty soon.

What size is everyone usin' on their A-chassis cars anyway? Mine are 2 tons.

I wouldn't be able to recommend the AC Delco jack stands I currently am using because I don't trust them.

I talked to the owner yesterday about the possabilitys of a rebuild vs a used swap. He's mainly worried about the price to rebuild it. I am his mechanic, and a very good one at that. But I've not had the privlage of rebuilding an auto tranny more than once. And I just was assisting then. Aaand it was a few years ago..aaaaaaaand it was from a Tacoma.
