It's only cool if you do it with the hood ON the car.

A true rusted car is just a crappy attempt at being cool.
A simulated rusted paint job (not just a hood) is different... But to deliberately rust a car is just stupid.

You know that people have it good when they take a perfectly fine car and rust pieces of it on purpose.
      What a dumb trend.

I don't think they all look bad. For some of those older cars I think it looks good. It's a statement, it's saying yeah I have rust on my car, but I'm fine with it. I'm going to make something out of it.

C'mon... someone who still thinks this is cool come in here and defend this fad, and say people can express themselves however they want and it's cool, so I can post pictures of "donk"-style rides and ask if you think those are cool, too.

Well, people are free to express themselves.
Just like we can express ourselves by calling it stupid and expressing that kids these days should pull their got-dang pants up and straighten their ball caps.

Awesome! That's not a new trend, in fact I see several Hondas a day sporting this look downtown Buffalo. Mismatched paint, mirrors from another car, dumped on rusty steelies, one aftermarket headlight, and rust seem to be the key mods. The owners have no idea how much their inner-city rides are worth!

Although, it is certainly more entertaining to watch the Car Lounge get their panties all in a bunch over stuff they really have no control over

Well of course! That way the suburban kids can have cars that match their sidways ballcaps and XXXXXL pants / t-shirts. Ghetto to the extreme, homez!
