MEXICO CITY (AP) -- Police at a Mexican seaport say they have found a pickup truck with body panels and a bumper made from fiberglass - and cocaine.

The Attorney General's Office says a trained dog picked up the scent of drugs during an inspection of a shipping container sent from Colombia.

Officials in the port of Manzanillo dismantled parts of a 1990 pickup truck inside the container and found that its rear bumper and some of its body panels appeared to be made from pressed cocaine base coated in fiberglass.

The office said in a statement Thursday that the cocaine-mix parts weighed 164 pounds (74 kilograms). No charges have yet been brought in the case.

so wouldnt the fiberglass wind up getting mixed in somewhat after extracting the cocaine ?
Cocaine and fiberglass can't be a winning combo

Why not? it goes great with other fun things like tobacco...
Forealdo, I'd imagine the yay was covered in it, not mixed in with the resin.

      Good Dog.

Reminds me of the James Bond flick where they mixed it with gasoline somehow, and re-extracted it chemically. Pretty clever, but how do you get it out?

i'd imagine most street level drug users don't question what or how their drugs get to them... coke is often cut with far nastier stuff than fiberglass.

      Bingo.

That is a very intuitive way to get it in though!

I'm shocked! Mexican police, seizing drugs! I don't get how crooks get caught so easily. If I'm going to do something that will put me in jail for 10+ years I'm going to make sure that I wont get caught, not half ass it. If you know that the port has noncorrupt police officers then take it to another one. Then when you try and get them into the US don't take them through a border crossing, use one of the many cattle gates and a truck then hit the gas and get it into an American vehicle asap. Criminals seem to be getting lazier, or maybe it's just the lazy ones get caught.

There are a ****load more people and drugs getting thru border crossings and over the border than ever get caught.

Many people have speculated that the cartels will periodically send sacrificial loads(of people and drugs) over the border to test and force the re-location of assets.

      Excellent.
I am in the process of making a Cocaine Fiber hood for my car. It's gonna look like Carbon Fiber but it shall be white.

Sometimes it amazes me just how clever these drug shippers are. If they where to put their ingenuity to other uses just imagine the possibilities! Too bad it doesn't pay to be honest (in their eyes).

That's the problem with blow. There is no good middle-class market for it. You either get stepped on crap, or you have to buy the whole enchilada for the cost of a M3, and then try to sell off what you don't need. But I digress.

this. when I was bartending I used to serve some very successful drug dealers who could have been wildly successful in legitimate business ventures, but almost no matter what industry there's no legal way to make as much net cash as they were making for the amount of time they put in. kinda makes me wonder if canadas high income taxes breed more criminals as they're more likely to choose a path that avoids paying up to almost half their income in taxes.

as for other info posted in this thread... very interesting. lol
