I had a family commitment tonight, so I didn't get home to see the race until about 30 to go. I did catch the truck race yesterday though and some of the Busch race.I heard both Jr and Martin had engine failures,
especially for Hendrick cars. Roush has jumped out to a quick start this season, wonder if it will last for all the cars. A good top 10 for Vickers though, I think he will be a surprise this season and get a win, maybe two.
#3
I really thought Jeff would pullout the win.
Kenseths pit crew was top notch, as always.
#4
Yeah, for a while I though Jeff had him at the end, but Kenseth seemed to just run hard enough to keep Jeff behind him. Every time JG would close the gap, Kenseth would pull away. How about Stewart with his new team? 2 top 10's to start the year and 4th in points, but then on the flip side, Newman has had nothing but problems to start the year.
And I know it's only 2 races in so far, but that run for the top 35 could be very interesting.
32 Scott Riggs 143 -242
33 Robby Gordon 134 -251
34 Ryan Newman 134 -251
35 Dale Earnhardt Jr. 133 -252
36 Aric Almirola 131 -254
37 Joey Logano # 119 -266
38 Jeremy Mayfield 104 -281
I think at some point during this season, you WILL see Logano pulled from the 20 car for a few races and either Terry Labonte or Bill Elliottt (when not running the 21) will be behind the wheel using Champ provisionals when Logano has a hard time staying in the top 35.

Whoa! I never even considered that, but I can totally see that happening.
I can't believe Jimmies car fell off like that, that car dominated every practice session.![]()

About Jimmie, this is kind of what he did last year. They just seem to mosey along in the top 10 and pick up a win or two in the first 20 races, then they get down to business when it counts. As for Logano, he's already out of the top 35, has shown no signs of running well yet, and still has to go to Bristol in a couple of weeks. I think the 20 will struggle to maintain top 35 status all year. WOW, that sounds weird to say.

Kenseths pit crew was top notch, as always.nice clean race....I just watched it on DVR. The wife and I were out of town celebrating our 10-year wedding anniversary (Feb 20, 1999
) and I promised the wife no sports. Looks like Kenseth is the man to beat but I really wanted Gordon to win one. Busch had a nice weekend and came close to a trifecta with an OK car.

Johnson, is a great pick for the Championship. I'm not so sure about any wins in Feb or even March. He's like the Spurs of the NBA..not a whole lot of flash, drama, but built for the post season

WOW, did you guys see McMurray DEAD sideways!!

That was the longest save I've ever seen. He was sideways through most of the corner!![]()

that was awesome. They had an in-car shot from I think Waltrip and he was drifting along the back stretch![]()

I was away having a mini vacation in Palm Springs, so I had to dvr the race and watch it lastnight.WOW! That was a mess! 14 cautions? Seemed like every restart somebody was sliding up or snapping around. I was pretty suprised by Jeff missing pitroad and Jimmie missing his box...twice and then the 48 hitting the speedy dry.
And whats up with all these motor changes and failures??! It's getting pretty bad. I dislike Kyle, but him winning from the pole or the back and at home was pretty cool to see. (punk)![]()

I think it is gonna put the motor builders on a very level field. At some point, they'll all be throwing away their notes from years past cause they just don't apply. I think it is cool that they are gonna start taking chances with the engines rather than "KNOWING" what they have.

apparently its from a batch of parts from the same vendor.

That story got me thinking......who do you think has the best sponsor perks?
RedBull and Miller Lite would work best for me.![]()

I love cereal, so Kelloggs would be good, Little Debbie, and when Ken Schrader had Red Baron Pizza, because pizza is awesome.

Red Bull for the Red Bull and Jagers, Jack Daniels because...well it's Jack, Home Depot and Lowe's becuase I like tools and tinkering around the house.

vickers with a big ol' middle finger to kyle busch, as he gets the win. what a hard fought win
at kahne for running into montoya AGAIN, ruining his day.

Jimmie and Chad need to work on the fuel thing.
#21
F.I think the #48 team has Michael Bolton doing the gas calculations. Always messing up on some mundane detail. They probably measure in litres to be different, and that's throwing them.

Overall great weekend for VickersHopefully this will finally push RBR to resign him if they haven't already.
I thought the whole press conference scenario with Vickers and crybaby after the Nationwide race was pretty funny with all the $hiat talking through the media and their sitting 2 feet apart![]()

After a long 17 hr. day, I come home to not sleep because my body is physically unable to turn off. I planned on watching a great m'ville race only to find out it's rained out. I can't even assuage my racing needs with Indy, since they rained out. sumbish.

Could these drivers be even more obvious in pushing Coke. At least pour half of it out to make it appear they actually drink the stuff. I think Stewart is the only one that acutally enjoys it.

Kyle is lucky, he gets all the NOS drinks he wants. I LOVE them!, but they are kind hard to find where I live.

Verizon is going through with Alltel's commitment I think through next year. Bigto Verizon in doing that, they could have just said see ya later to Penske but didn't, even though they don't get any recognition. Have you guys noticed that there are now Verizon sponsored moments throughout the race? I would like to see Stremme win just to see who he thanks in victory lane afterward.
I agree with the whole Coke thing, it's almost comical these days with all the Coke stuff.

Have you guys noticed that other than Bristol, Martinsville, New Hampshire, and the road courses, that qualifying really doesn't matter a whole lot anymore? Given it helps, but it seems like more and more drivers win or finish well even when they start from the back.

or Fig Newtons across the windshield.Anyone think Kyle Busch is somewhat like Ricky Bobby? Not in a way that he is funny (sometimes he is), but for the reason he'll say he's better than everyone out there and for the most part backs it up. Also because he talks smack over the radio.

he's definitely a "big" personality. and he does kind of have a "if you're not first, you're last" mentality. I can't really picture him being happy with anything other than a win.
before this season started, i had an intense dislike for kyle busch, stemming from richmond when he wrecked jr. but after his announcement of possible joining f1, i find myself rooting for him to win a championship, simply because i'd really like to see a top-nascar driver try f1. so, bring on the wins kyle!
