Btw, what do you think a fair price for a set of (used) G60 calipers and carriers is these days?
(Yes, I have checked the classifieds)
You know, my Corrado was an 1.8 16V KR (and those had the 256mm brakes)...
#218
I sold a set of Vrs from a 93 (same as G60 though), calipers, carriers and lines, shipped for $90

I thought the calipers are the same on the 16V and G60, so you should just need the carriers
Isn't it cheaper to get them from Germany?

Really??? Now I'm confused... Can someone with an ETKA confirm this?
Hmm, only person I know from Germany is Torsten (and Chris is in Swiss), but I haven't pm'd them...maybe I should try (or they can contact me if they stamble upon this thread)

16V: 357 615 123A (left) 124A (right)
G60: 357 615 123B (left) 124B (right)
That A/B is a design revision, but given the same part number I would expect them to be interchangeable.
Saying that though, the caliper carrier is 357 615 125 B & C between 16V / G60 and they are not interchangeable...

Well the way I understood it was that the calipers are the same on all Corrados. The carriers are smaller on a 16V for the smaller disc, and larger on the G60 and VR6 for the larger disk.
And, because the VR6 has a different hub the offset on the disc is also different, even though it uses the same caliper and carrier as the G60.
I may be wrong about the calipers being the same, but the carriers are definitely different between 256mm and 280mm.
I think we'll probably need to ask the caliper Q on the-corrado.net since few on Vortex have 16Vs (except you and me!).

^^Lol
Hope this is not turning out like Kyle's thread
Well, I have some good news...car is all preped and primered (hope those are correct words) and he told me that it should be ready/painted until next week...I'll guess we'll have to wait and see

Other than that, I'm still looking for some G60 brakes, since the guy who was supposed to sell me those seem to have change his mind...
...and some other good news...I was informed recently that soon I'm gonna be a dad !!!
So, I have only about 16 years left to finish my Corrado-project, so my son can enjoy it

Thanks all
So, after much consideration it seems that we're going to remove the glasses afterall (side windows) for paint. I was just trying to keep this project at a low budget but that at this rate that doesn't seem possible. So far I'm somewhere $1000 over my initial budgetand who knows what's more...
...and I still need brakes, oil cooler, some misc. engine stuff, finish the interior, sort out the chassis/steering/suspension stuff...
Oh well...tomorrow I'll visit the paintshop to take some photos of the progress![]()

Mikky is completly correct in the previous post.
To upgrade from 256 discs to 280 you just need the carriers. That is what places the caliper in the correct place for that disc
#239
Didn't I promise photos of the update???
Well I have, but be prepared...they are not many, either are good 'cause I didn't have much time - had to get back to work - plus my photo skills suck
Car is all primered, tomorrow the glass-guy is going there to remove the side windows and Monday (I think & hope) he's shooting it with fresh LY3D
The guy is retarded btw...bare with me...if you've been following my build thread, you would remember that I had decided not to paint the rear hatch and hood (those were previously painted by the same guy maybe a year ago). When I went there today, to my suprise I saw the hood primered and when I asked him why, he said that he saw two small dents on it and decided that he'd paint that too. Free of charge you may ask...Nah
Wish I had a moonroof...
If I knew or if he would inform me that he'd paint the hood, I would have shaved the hood washer nozzles...
Doesn't it look good grey![]()
