I have been swamped with life taking over lately. Haven't had time for my car. Unfortunately. I need to pick up some supplies to continue on the fun sometime soon.
He was... he just had to finish those expensive cars first
On the other hand, I'm seriously really looking forward seeing some progress on your "build" thread
I don't have that going on, but my sister is getting married this week and I have been helping out with all of that stuff the last few weeks and doing a bit of partying in between. Also other people's cars have come first lately too.
Well, after some delay from the paint shop (he didn't have the rear number plate panel and door mirrors ready on Saturday morning so we had to wait until Monday morning to get those) we finally towed the car back home, so the assembly could begin today.
Today, was the hottest day recorded here in the last 50 years (46o Celsius in some areas ) but we did some work on the Corrado:
- installed both bumpers, door mirrors & outside trianglular pieces, door handles, taillights, rear spoiler, gas door, headlights, fogs & turns, rear number plate panel, lip spoiler and bracket
- installed sunroof panel with a brand new seal (that sh!t 's expensive!!!)
- installed all the trims (roof -brand new - and around windows & doors)
Tomorrow, I'll be fitting the new tires to the wheels, lowering the coilovers some more, and experiment with some spacers to fill the pulled arches and finally assembly the interior.
Hopefully on Wednesday I'll finish so I can take it back to the paintshop to get some imperfections fixed and apply some undercoat to the wheel wells and then to the body guy for some final adjustments (ie. tailgate, doors and hood)
Engine and interior are quite dirty so if everything goes well on Thursday and Friday I'll give everything a good clean...Everyhting must be ready until Saturday morning for our local VW show where hopefully I'll get some good pics too
Another hard day of work on the Corrado today under the unbearable Cyprus summer...
Pretty much 90% is assembled back together, fitted the new Toyo's 195/40's today, they look nice - without stretch on the 7,5'' - but the wheel gap is now enormous...Seems like I'll have to lower it atleast 2-3cm more to look proper, but at this point I'm really worried about "strain" to the components (advise on what could fail being that low ?) and ride quality
