    Thread: Chank/Flywheel Timing marks on a 2002 Jetta 1.8t W/Tiptronic

    1. 03-07-2009 05:10 PM #1
I am trying to find the timing marks on this 02 Jetta with the automatic tiptronic transmission, can find the reference on the Crank Pulley and there seems to be a corresponging mark at the same location through the small hole in the bell housing on the flywheel but want to be sure before I put everything together. Does anyone know if this is the proper alignment for this car? Thanks...

there is an indent on the lower timing cover for alignment purposes.

I found it, was going by a previous post but I guess you don't have to even bother with the flywheel marks. I appreciate your info, tore off the lower timing cover which was so caked with oil I never even noticed the mark.

      Thanks
