Thread: Blowing T3 Gaskets? here's the solution!

  1. 03-13-2009 01:14 PM #1
In a previous thread, Silvercar suggested the Nissan OEM t3 gasket. I Went down to the dealership and picked one up, and its freakin awesome. Super super thick, looks strong, cheap ($14) and best part, re-usable! That's right, they are meant to be re-used!

Beats the thin ATP steel ones.

    Here's a picture:

    It's for a Turbo Z31 300zx I believe, part number : 14415-4P200

There's also a T25 version from the Z32's. But the easiest solution is to not run a gasket.

You think I trust ATP's casting? I don't have time to deck the turbine housing inlet.

i went through 2 of the nissan gaskets before going gasketless. now i am a believer

the nissan gaskets are strong as hell though! withstand a beating and work quite well if the turbo is supported.

I have a question, were you blowing gaskets or were your studs backing out then blowing gaskets?

I ask cause I have yet to have a problem with blown gaskets *knock on wood* and i hope its because i have nordlocks on everything

Oh, and i'm gonna go check for those plugs right now

    Thanks man!

Studs backing out then blowing gaskets, but I think i have the stud/situation figured out now.

I also use nordlocks, since then I havn't had a problem. But I am swapping turbos next week, so I picked up this gasket to use instead of the cheap ATP one.

can you guys really hear it when you rip a gasket? I decided to run gasketless, but my idle is sort of funky, and i'm thinking it might have a small leak. I can't hear anything though, I'll try some seafoam...
