    seriously, this.

as a regular, we're seeing a trend of "tuner" (both jap and euro) cars starting to take up spots that really should be left for the classic & truly unique cars out in the front. i will be parking in the back of the side lot or even in the rear bank lot if there is no space by 7AM.

    looking forward to DubHaus too

I go to McLean. I'm on the other side of 123 at the end of Georgetown pike so I guess technically I'm not right down the street but I'm really close. A few of my friends live right by the village though and they go to Langley.

That's getting kinda annoying considering some of the really cool stuff had to park in the other parking lots last weekend and we had cars that just shouldn't have been parked in the main rows taking up prime spots.

Heck.. I almost always park further down the row and a bit out of the way. I still yet to this day however had the opportunity to park next to another A1 chassis car. I have parked next to a bunch of OG Mini's which was AWESOME. I thought the Rabbit was small.. lol..

Oh.. and btw if you're going to C&C and want a spot, best time to get there is at 7am. By 7.15 or later you're pretty much SOL these days. It has gotten THAT popular.

Unless it is behaving badly, I was planning on bringing the Corrado. It is burgundy pearl metallic (AKA: dark purple) with MKIV Monte Carlo wheels. Otherwise, I will bring the Jetta (white TDI Cup).

Don't get me started with the douchebag M3 drivers rolling stock with their matching M Power full outfits taking up double spots

You missed the M5 with an exhaust last weekend that parked dead center next to a Saleen in front of Katie's. Thing sound SO bad when he pulled out it wasn't even funny. Nobody was impressed at_all.

Meanwhile there was what we thought was an original 993 GT2 sitting up in the upper parking lot. **Drool** Top things off someone showed up with an Audi 80 that was amazing!!!!

If you can't get you and your car there early enough to get a good spot, then shame on you... this is not a private or invite-only event, nor are there any written rules on what makes, models, vintage can attend.

And to the earlier post about being careful as there are older, richer people... who cares if they are rich and/or old. Do I need to wear my tweed coat and top hat to get in? Am I going to be on camera with Oprah or escorting the Prime Minister of Whatdafukickstan around the premise? If one is a car enthusiast and can carry themselves like an adult, I fail to see how any of this is a problem.

With that said, I'm certainly not going to park any of my lowly cars in the exhibition area, nor will I be rolling into the parking lot scraping oil pans and thumping my woofers to DMX, ODB, OCD, WTF, etc...

Lastly, cruising the parking lots of car events are a guilty little pleasure of mine anyhow, so I for one look forward to finding little treasure's amongst that cars of the masses.

Let's back up a second.. firstly...does there really need to be written rules? Not really.. but it is common courtesy to let some of the truely unique cars be front and center vs. the more common newer stuff that we can all read about. This isn't specific VW complaint. I get bored out of my mind when I see the Viper crew roll up and take over the whole place and one specifically that feels the need to play his radio while he cleans his car that everyone just walks right by uninterested in. Meanwhile you have ancient Alfas, Porsches, etc. that get stuck in other parking lots not seen. That to me is disappointing.

Not much one can do about it, but get their early and those folks w/the rare stuff should, but it seems the newer crowd is more motivated to "bling out" and be showy than the old car crew.

Lastly if you want to show up in a tweed coat and top hat.. go ahead. We'll take pics and make sure they are posted up if you want.

i will back David up here (and after re-reading, I guess you essentially agree Geesixty), since we are there consistently. it's not about being uppity or "entitled" or anything. it's just being respectful of the venue, the cars, and its clients (yes, the village is being kind enough to let us take over their parking lot for a few hours). it's nice to let something rare or really classic take the spotlight. forgive me for derailing for a second; here are some pics from last weekend to help give you an idea (i'll create a TCL thread as an official one):

and to stay on the topic of DubHaus, some pics from last time!

Not disagreeing... there are bozos in every crowd.

Case in point... I would be more excited to see either one of these beauties than the Ford GT in Gulf colors. My point being, who is to say Audi, Omni GLHS, or Ford GT should or shouldn't be parked in the front row? Hell, at Sebring this year I came across two vintage Porsche 904 GTS race cars on display. Just when I thought I was in heaven, I look behind them to see an original bright yellow Shogun Festiva. I literally almost cr@pped my pants from the sheer excitement of seeing a Shogun in person.

Holy... you sold your GLX to Rico??!! What is this world coming to??

I drove by what I think was your house and didn't see the Jetta, but saw a new one so figured something was up.

I keep stalking this bungalow that's being rented there that was FS a couple of years back in the hopes the owners will put it up for sale one of these days again.

Yep, Rico is the new owner of my GLX... had it for over 8 years so it was not easy to let it go. Looks like he's got some plans cooked up.

Yeah, I moved just over a year ago and don't live on N. Lex anymore. There is a Jetta Wolfsburg 2.0T right next door, silver, that I always thought was a nice ride.

Oh man I saw that M5 leaving! It sounded really strange indeed, almost like it had some 1.6L rally car motor. I got there kind of late (had just drove my MK6 cross country the night before so woke up late). My dad lives here in Great Falls so I just moved out here to crash with him for a while. Next time I'll be sure to try and find you to say hello!

I can't believe I live less than 10 miles from VWoA headquarters. Will definitely be seeing all of you guys there! I'll probably try and get an early spot at the Katie's cars n coffee to show off my California license plate (haha) and then roll from there to the Dubhaus GTG. What time does everyone usually show up at VWoA?

Oh and of course here is a pic of my darling GTI, Eve. Snapped this in the middle of Tennessee. Never knew the drive across the country would have such breathtaking scenery.

Never knew the drive across the country would have such breathtaking scenery.

actually i spotted you rolling into C&C on saturday haha. people usually show up on decent time to DubHaus

Look back one page for google maps location.

The "start"is 7am, but if you want a good spot I see people showing up at like 630. I show up right at 7am or about 5 mins afterwards. If you show up by 730 expect to see packed lots for the most part.

Matt wanted me to ask if anyone has a small-port MAP sensor for a 1.8T that you could bring to the GTG. He will trade you his large port or give you cash $$$.
