anybody know a good welder that could weld aluminum. my power steering line melted a hole about the size of a quarter through my intercooler piping. ive tried calling around but most people say they cant do it because its aluminum piping.

i loved my REvo programing i still a ecm with it on it. the old 4bar program . its agressive and fun. it would stomp on apr's programming performance wise but it would kill a ko3s fast like after 30 k miles..

My comment was not made to be a 'pissing contest'.

And I think the 'hollywood whore' is a 2.0slow.n IIRC (I do apologize, if I am wrong.) But, if that's the case, your agrument would be invalid in this case.

negative ghostrider....scotty had a 1.8t....his revo program would barely get a fender on my GIAC program, but like he said, he killed 2 turbos in the time that i still had my stock unit....personally for stock turbo tuning these days i would recommend looking into Unitronics....i know their file for the 2.0T (TSI & FSI) will WALK any others will similar mods!

      oh hai chucktown!

Hollywood whore is owned by Blight (Ben) and his car is a 2000 Golf 1.8t.

I always remember Scott getting decent times at the track with his tune and mods, but it does eat up turbo seals and bearings. Revo runs their stuff hitter than any other tuner out there and that even goes for the newer cars. Yes it makes more power, but for how long? The people to go with for smooth reliable power is APR or Unitronic these days.

Yeah le Whore de Hollywood is a 1.8T AWD engine (150bhp). I was not aware that Revo was so heavy though. I think an APR tune would be more gentle as i'm only looking for a bit more speed for around town driving, not on the track. I imagine only needing to put in a new diverter valve and maybe a CAI.

On other news I debadged the rear last night and went around it filling in paint chips. I'm going to redo the headlights this weekend but I want to buy some new ones if anyone has some with fogs for sale, or good projectors.
I'm planning on installing a rear sway bar soon but the guy who I'd hoped to buy it off has gone into radio silence, so if anyone has one of those knocking around i'd be interested.

After all thats done I want to improve the ride quality. Suffice to say that I have JOM's on and it's a little stiff. I've been reading a lot about ride quality and tires but I was wondering if I changed the control arm bushing it would help improve the thudding I get when I go over Charleston many bumps? I changed my strut mount bearings with Steve not so long ago so they are good.

Wash, waxed and acne treated I may be up for some hanging out!

If it's actual thuds and knocks, not just stiffness, then really any of the bushings could help. But if it's just the harshness of the stiff shocks/struts then there's not much that can be done.

no pissing contest there bre.. just simple statements of fact... revo agressive apr reliable......and since switching setups i took mikes advice and went Unitronic and dont see myself ever going back to revo. killed my first ko3s at 30k miles still have the second ko3s sitting in my parts bin if anybody needs one cheap. love my gtrs might go 3071 next year..got me a aeb head sitting in the garage to get rebuilt now so the skies the limit im waiting on Ie to release there new cams. i think i got a 8.93 in the 1/8th at dorchester as my best time with revo running...boost spikes at 25 and 27 psi . so yes revo can get real agressive..

Yeah sounds good man, i'll see what my humble funds allow at the time. Just managed to swag a Neuspeed 28mm rear sway bar for $100 bucks from Clemson, delivered by a colleague for free $$

Sorry for not getting out yesterday, the old girl had plans. I've learnt to abide at this juncture

Ok chaps, Ryan got me scanned (thanks Ryan) so I now know what ECU i'm running. If I can get hold of a used tuned one on vortex i'm gonna need the IMMO2 codes reset using a VAG-COM. Does anyone have, or know who has a fully operational copy of the software? The actual swap 'looks' quite straight forward 'touch wood' (not you Wiener). Only a couple or three minutes....
