Quote from Audizine: "So, there was a good crowd at Cars and Coffee on Saturday morning. Around 10AM folks started leaving but there was still about 15 cars hanging out when the property manager came up in a golf cart and started telling everyone we can't park there any more. Evidently the Lane Bryant store manager called to complain and said she knows her clientele and they have to park up near the store because they won't walk far. Lane Bryant is a "plus size" women's store, so I pointed out perhaps the fat woman could stand to walk an extra 100 feet. I thought about going into the store, holding up one of the Moo Moos, and asking "does this make me look skinny?'"

Eric, another Audizine member met with the GM of Town Center today and they are requesting we move closer to the highway.

IMO this is complete and utter bull****, there's no reason we (customers of Atlanta Bread) should have to move for the sake of some "plus size women's store" shoppers. It wouldnt hurt for them to walk an extra fifty feet. Lastly, it's not like there is a lack of parking, there are always spots directly in front of the stores available or off to the side.

    Any thoughts?

I figured that would happen eventually. When groups of cars, car clubs, gtg's start taking over parking lots people eventually complain. If the GM is still letting the group stay, just in another section then that seems fair.

Honestly... there's nothing wrong with you parking wherever you want in the parking lot. I'm not saying to be *******s out there... but so long as you're doing nothing stupid there they can't say anything. You're not loitering or soliciting.... and there are other parking spots available. A parking spot is a parking spot.

July 13 and 14 is the annual VW drag night. I'm trying to spread the word and get more watercooled VW's involved in this event because it is a blast. You can go to www.vwdragnight.com for all the information.

    Hope to see y'all there.

IT IS OFFICIAL! CARS & COFFEE IS CHANGING LOCATIONS

After being harassed by Mt. Pleasant Towne Centre "management" one too many times we decided to look for a new place to meet and found an even better spot.

We are moving to Brookgreen Town Center on Coleman Blvd. Brookgreen has a Starbucks, the fantastic Mozzo Deli and PLENTY of parking. Same time as always.

    PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD.

Hey Guys- hope you can help.

I got my daughter a clean 91 cabby...1st car. Manual shift. She lives in Mt Pleasant.
She is still learning to 'clutch' 'and shift' without 'dropping it' or stalling.
Sooo...I had the shift kit installed-But it seems that she has done something(again) to
    lose 1st.

It was recommended to take it to Hudson's Imports, Mt. Plsnt.
But...my daughter called Hudson's -spoke to Cliff..."He personally does not work on the MK1 anymore."
AND: He knows "no one that can fix a (shift problem) on a 20 year old car".

Someone also recommended Jimmy's Auto care?
(The Cabby will have to be trucked over to whatever mechanic it goes to- as she is not good about starting out in 2ed....probably not good for the clutch either, huh?

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated! Her Mom (my Ex) is POed...

I can't help there... I can throw a random idea and maybe say it threw a cable out? But you can try JK automotive theyre out here in the summerville area. He can take a look or point you in a good direction.

Cables didn't come along until the introduction of the Passat B3 and Mk3 Jetta and Corrado platforms.

Older cars used a solid linkage and combination of pivot points. My best suggestion is to put the stock parts in the car until she can learn the basics. THEN upgrade to the shirt shifter deal. In the meantime, get the adjusted bracket out and line things back up and see if it restores 1st gear operation.

Something I learned if anyone cares. Vw uses Kevlar lined break lines now. Steel is pointless to upgrade now, unless you wanna look cool.

    This applies to new vws.

Good info but I'd like to add that Kevlar is great for piercing damage and such... but steel braided also is and will last longer. Not as easy to crush or give from being under pressure. More tensile strength and tension strength to be honest. But this is just my 2 cents from working with these materials. I'd still prefer steel lines. Or titanium.
