To celebrate Fiat's involvement in providing a fleet of cars to the Dutch version of the popular X-Factor television singing talent show, Fiat Group Automobiles Netherlands BV has now created a special limited edition of the Grande Punto. Fiat Group Automobiles Netherlands has teamed up with TV channel RTL, which organises the Dutch version of the primetime light entertainment show, and it is providing the cars used by the show as well as appearing on billboards, in various promotions and streaming of the events and other forms of strong visibility from the start of proceedings which got underway mid February and until the show reaches a climax in early May. The popular primetime televised X-Factor talent show sees hopeful musicians auditioning in front of a panel of critical judges at locations around the country with the numbers being slowly whittled down towards a core that reach the series of finals shows. While most of the winners are very quickly forgotten some, such as Leona Lewis who won the UK version, have gone on to achieve major success as recording artists. Hans Vervoorn, Public Relations Director for Fiat Auto Netherlands BV expressed himself pleased with the initiative, saying that as well as the visibility and connection with a popular light entertainment show, motorists also listen to the X-Factor music in the car, thus providing a connection. The Grande Punto Edizione X comes with a high level of equipment fitted as standard. Inside it has a radio/cd/mp3 player with 6 speakers and steering wheel activated controls, climate control, alarm with remote control and special sports seat covers. On the outside the Edizione X has 16-inch spoked alloys wheels, colour-coded side skirts and tailgate spoiler, as well as fog lights. The Grande Punto Edizione X will cost 14,595 euros and is only available through Fiat dealers in the Netherlands.
