Following the official Sorento teaser shots, released by Kia Motors a few months ago, was a series of unofficial exterior images, previewing the Sorento’s front end styling. Today, we have seen the first round of candid interior images emerging on the web and revealing some parts of Sorento’s interior layout. Sure, we have seen the cabin before, but back then, it was heavily disguised.

As you can see the interior of the 2010 Kia Sorento appears to be completely redesigned. It incorporates three large chrome-accented gauge clusters, a completely redesigned and (finally) attractive-looking steering wheel with audio control buttons mounted on the right side.

The all-new interior also benefits from a revamped center stack console, which features an in-dash built LCD display, positioned in between the elongated vertical air vents and HVAC buttons mounted below. Auxiliary and USB input jacks can also be found in the center console.

A while ago, UK’s 4Car magazine issued a report from their exclusive Sorento-prototype test-drive. When sitting behind the wheel, editors have noticed the cabin received some major styling improvements and was built from higher grade materials. And these very first interior images certainly prove their claims. I’m pretty sure this is going to be one of the best looking interiors we have seen in a Kia vehicle to date!

As we reported, the 2010 Kia Sorento is scheduled to make it’s official debut at the 2009 Seoul Auto Show, and that’s when you can expect more Sorento information and images to be revealed.

If only the name of the car wasn't so...boring.

Perhaps the Kia 'Hot Girl On Girl Action' would be a more appealing name to you?

Hey, Kia is the one calling them that...not me. Please see Wimbles other Kia thread. *laughter*

I could be losing my mind, but I'm pretty damn sure I am still seeing commercials for the 2008 Sorrento on television... in 2009.

Buttons and dash look like "almost there" sketches of "for use in cheaper models" from an Audi design studio of 3-5 years ago.

However... that's not a bad thing.

Kudos for someone aside from Audi for using red displays in LED boards... I can't stand backlit LCD screens... they are so hard to see compared to illuminating the actual information.

Kudos again for a Korean company for NOT using blue lighting... Red and white is far easier to see, and easier on the eyes. I was recently in a Hyundai and almost blinded by the bright blue light... same bad news in a few Toyota's... if it isn't electric orange.

I love the overall design of the vehicle but I feel like the tail lights could of been done better. They are way to big in my opinion. Interior looks nice.

Between this and the Forte, I am liking the front design language of the new Kia.

I drove past the port in Georgia where the Kias come in and there are fields and fields and fields of the current generation Sorentos. There are also tons of Borregos, Optimas and Tiburons.

I have to agree with the above post relating to the rear design. It's not horrible, but it does come across as rather dull. The interior is nice albeit nothing special. Kia has come such a long way in such a short time.

i hope there's no fancy electronics in the shifter mechanism area. it's destined to be filled with hot java.

that name would actually be less strange than alot of other names the Asian manufactures give their cars

Meh. The styling of this still doesn't do anything for me.

I know. I felt it stayed cultural while conveying excitement.

There's pretty much nothing I care less about than the interior of a Korean SUV.
