      I'll let you know when I've actually built it. Top secret project.

      dual rounds, yes...single rounds, maybe.

      i suspect it'd look better on the golf/gti, though i will FULLY admit to being biased.

      i do have a slightly damaged mk2 grill...don;t hav the jetta hood though. hmmm.

      Yeah! Do work!
      Hows the curvature of the MKIII matching up to the curvature of the MKII Grille?

      not at all.
      mk2 = !
      mk3 = (

      i beat the front end up pretty bad to get it to halfway fit and cut the grill to pieces

      this is stage 1

      more demolition in the am. I gotta beat the rad support in a few more mm

      once you get into it you can clearly see the the photoshop was a photoshop.lol

      the best way to do it would be to buy 2 grilles split in middle and mold in a piece from the second grill the would take care of the tremendous curve it take s to fit and the length. t opush the lights out towards the fenders.

      I just had this grill laying around so decided to try it, since i was going to experiment with body work and a diy paint job. 1st time for everything I guess

      its still hitting the rad support and pulling the grill up in teh middle

      thats the main goal of the morning

    16. 03-24-2011 09:05 PM #116
      Wouldn't it have made more sense if you did this properly and welded an MK2 headlight support onto the MK3........................

      perhaps...

      but the problem is with the middle of the rad support not what holds the lights.
      i will look into this tomorrow though, i have a few of those laying around

    18. 03-24-2011 09:27 PM #118
      The whole MK2 support is different hence the MK2 grille just poping in.

      I've been toying with the idea for a while... if you know how to cut and weld it should be fairly simple. The hardest part is probably getting the grille to match up to the bottom of the bumper so the curvature doesn't make the flat grille look like ****. I assume that's why the dude that did it, put an aftermarket bumper on.

      i deleted my turn so the only thing holding my whole front end on are the 4 bolts up top to fender.

      cutting that is a bit scary to me.

      I am a newb at everything i am doing to this car.

      welding
      shaveing
      ef'in bondo
      painting

      actually in over my head, but i guess that how you learn.

      you should cut yours and post how it turns out.
