Did you get them yet? They aren't that bad to do honestly...if you and Corey don't care i'll come by and help out too. A few friends and i did mine.

I've had my coils since last summer and the box has been sittin in the back of my girls SUV since LOL winter was bad so maybe it was worth waiting

coils were the easy part when i helped jon. the rivnuts for the skidplate was the pain in the ass.

I don't have a skidplate and I should probably get one huh!?!?

i thought i would need one too...and i bought one...it was kind of a waste...it's not going to save you that much and it personally makes me more scared with it on...i bought the diesel geek one its sitting in my parents garage...i still have the mounts on my car...it's been off for about 8-10 months now...haven't had a problem and feel better with it off personally. Save your 300$ and spend it else where...

why did it make you more scared because it laid even lower then your pan? you must think the mean streetz of Joliet are good enough to not need it then obviously and its better hearing it from locals then people spread around the country who don't know our streets, then I probably won't get one then

      btw, how low are you?

My coils are supn just about all the way down...i think at the fenders I'm like 23.5-24 to the ground. The front like has about 4in of ground clearance and my sideskirts have about 3.5-3.75in of ground clearance...my rears have a one finger gap...i'm tucking the fronts a decent amoutn..pic for reference...

I think (personally) this pic gives a good reference as to how low i am...

oh, and yes, partially because the skid plate makes you lower than the pan (though not much, only like .5 inch if i recall correctly). Also because i've seen people bust oil pans through the plates. The last reason is because of one other thing i've seen around here (on vortex). The people that are stupid low aren't always breaking oil pans...they will rip the dogbone out of the transmission. That scares the crap out of me. I dont think i'm low enough for that though...You'll see how low i am in person next weekend.

I would probably want to go about that low, and i got some 20mm spacers for the rear and 10mm for the front so those should look decent with long beaches.

get one and be safe. just cut a hole in it so you dont have to take the whole plate off to do an oil change.

I'm not a big fan of skiplates, makes it a little easier for you to bottom out too because of that extra half an inch.

no me neither, me and my girl are looking at townhomes worth 2.5 09 escalades

hey if you still want to do my coils for some taco bell, let me know

yeah man, late evenings during the week are the best time for me... but if u give me enough advance notice i can make time on weekends as well

as far as skid plates go... i drive this sled all over the place.. no probs. busted one oil pan last season when it wasnt as low because of a raised manhole cover im sure a skid plate wouldn't have helped much in that situation

this is about a month ago.. i dropped the front another 1/2" since then to even it out a bit... soon as my wheels are done its goin down some MORE

honestly the ride height im at now, i wouldn't recommend to anyone haha.. two busted CV joints, paint flaking from tire rub on rear fenders, axle hitting frame over big bumps... not to mention my interior is slowly but surely being rattled to pieces, but i think thats more from the exhaust and motor mounts.

at this point the damage is done, so i dont care i got this car with like 18k on it and lowered it like a week later, has like 104k now.. so its been low most of its life and still manages to drive somewhat normal

haha, maybe its lower than it seems from the angle of the pic... I just want to go as low as I can without rubbing and causing problems. I'm sorta low right now but I could go a little lower.... I'm on cut springs right now i didn't do it, i swear

get one and be safe. just cut a hole in it so you dont have to take the whole plate off to do an oil change.

it's not exactly safe dude. you can still bust your oil pan right through the plate. it's been done plenty. Even you cut that little "hole" in the plate, that will only give you access to get to the drain plug. You have to cut a much larger hole to be able to change the filter w/o taking the plate off...also another pita part of having a plate. Also, the plates are ALUMINUM. that sh*t isn't exactly strong. lol.
