nice Jason. that sounds like a great ride. I wasn't driving, but i did a little over 8hrs in the car between saturday and sunday. Made pretty good time getting to St. Louis. Just hit traffice getting over the river because 55 went down to one lane..got real stupid, real quick there. Other than that, smooth sailing. Went to some cool microbreweries down there and had some great beer. Also went to the Anheuser Busch brewery and did the tour. That was extremely cool. I would highly recommend that if you're ever down that way. Free tour, free parking, 2 free (full) beers at the end of the tour.
Rush was awesome. They played over 3hrs and it was loud. Suite was great...free food and beer, etc. Got to hear some quality tracks and hang out with some good people. Here are some pics i took throughout the weekend:

Starved rock cruise eh? There are some great roads out there... I work in the area quite a bit.
Jon, I saw a cadillac in that color today, and I really like it in person. My wife was sold too. I usually don't like red hues, but when the sun hits it, it looks more brown. Almost like antique bronze.
Looks like you had a good time down there. Brewery tours are on our agenda next summer.

If anyone is interested, this is the gauge face I "made" for my car. I combined a regular face and newer passat face, also using the passat needles and gauge rings. I painted the face wrinkle black to match the rest of my wrinkled interior pieces. Should have it all installed wed or thur, because its gotta dry.
Edit: Idk why the wrinkles look goofy in pic, look nice in person.

Well Aja mkv is gone. traded in for a 08 Mazda cx7 with 46k miles. Had a big issue come up the the Jetta. found out it was tagged as frame damage on a carfax prior to our ownership and it had been in two severe accidents. So VOA wouldnt do anything about it. Luckly for us the shady people that were at Haggerty are gone and Rocco the current Manager helped us out. They took the car on a trade and paid off my loan in full which is fine so no equity gained which would have been minimal at best anyway. We left with the cx7. its the awd sport model so not fully loaded but has the sunroof and bose radio. Drives nice has decent tires and newer brakes. the Jettas tires were dead. so payments are up a bit but its manageable and within the next 6 months i intend to have my car paid off so for now thats how things will be. it needs a detail as i can see swirls in the black paint. but ill try and snag some pictures tomorrow when i go back to give final sigs on the paperwork.

finalized papers last night got a slightly better rate but still sky high cuz my credit blows and its a 2nd loan that i have out there. but we were able to refund what was left of her gap insurance and extended warenty and roll that into the downpayment so it dropped my loan amount by about 1200 so that was good. have decent monthly payment but i intend to try and refinance the loan after my car is paid off so hopefully i can drop they apr to almost half of what it is and be at a really decent rate. either way it should be a good car and it badly needs a detail. so maybe if its nice this weekend ill break out the pc and give it a buff.

The assurelinks are only 1/2 hp, but mine has the motion sensor for the light and the internet connectivity/smart phone app to open the door (assurelink). I'll never need a 3/4hp opener because i have an aluminum door with no insulation...might go up a little quicker with a 3/4, but i had a a 1/2 in there before and it was plenty fine.

Honestly, I've been working on the Babby's room. Tore out the carpet, baseboards, and just put up some magnetic paint on one wall. Looking pretty good. Tomorrow, after I wake up, gonna start painting it. After that dries, then it's time for the hardwood laminate (I have no idea what I'm doing, but it doesn't seem extensively difficult). I'll upload progress pictures once I'm done, since I've been snapping a few here and there.

been riding the bike all week with no issues. Finally drove the car today. put a 1.5 gal of gas in it just cuz i was on 0. first time in a week ive driven it. got 14,250 miles on the bike and trying to break 15k before i store it away for the year. Aja's new cx7 is running good getting about 21mpg so i guess its decent for a gas sucking turbo.

noticed my fuel pump isn't kicking on every time i turn the key, only intermittently now, truck wouldn't start again yesterday because the fuel pump didn't kick on. turned the key again for the 2nd time to start it, fuel pump kicked on, truck still wouldn't start. im thinking fuel pump relay.

There is no need for the relay to be in use every single time you turn the key if pressure is adequate. Pull the plugs, let it sit over night, put them back in in the morning and she will start right up. If anything fuel pressure is too high. But the way it literally filled cylinder 3 with fuel (as in when I pulled the plug a small amount of fuel poured out) I still think you have a bad injector.

Took about 2 weeks, and I'm not 100% done, but least most of the hard parts are finished. This is for our baby's room, due sometime in February.

DAT TRIM
pretty sweet work man. I still have to do trim in the basement, I wast just down there earlier staring at everything wondering how Im gonna finish things etc...
its amazing how much the floor transforms the room and then how much the trim makes it all pop.
