I have a friend who picked up two WRXs one of which was hit in the back and the other a flood victim. He is looking at doing a 2 door conversion, but is unsure of what has to be done legally? I know it will raise a redflag if his reg. says 4 door and the car is a 2 door when pulled over. Help?

WRX parts into the Impreza 2-door. Probably easier than doing some wacky hax0r job.

I think that with the two cars he has at his disposal, he's better off doing something like this:

      Leonardo - Team Post-Killing Ninja
Fizzy - Team My Little Pony

It's proportions are going to make it look like this or worse.

      Don't do it.

He doesn't do "wacky hax0r jobs", he restores old muscle cars, builds rat rods, and assembles kit cars. He's not doing this for ease, he's doing it to do something unique.

Edit: He's not concerned about doing it or not, it's getting done.
He's concerned about the legalese involved.

I can't be of much help, but is it possible for him to build it and then title it as a kit car? Just a thought.

He may have to get an inspection to prove what he's done. I suggest he has plenty of proof of the work. As an example, I recall hearing in Ontario that if you had proper proof of swapping an engine that did not belong or was not available in your car at the time of purchase you were exempt from the emission test. It may be along the same lines.
