Hey kfz, I thought about you today as I contemplated starting a new Hammie thread titled something to the effect of "Hammie wins first race without McLaren" or "M-B wins first race with Hammie"......knowing FULL well it might be a while.

Nothing against tatts and racing drivers....especially considering the fact that Kimi has a bunch I believe.....but grab some 'cuz the colorful comments are a coming.

How come i'm the one that's been keeping this thread alive?? Lol.
Actually looking forward to HAM showing a little dominance in the Merc this season, especially if they've gotten the active suspension right. Will Macca drop down the ranks? Sure would make Lewis like a genius.
You need to hang out here a little more often. Gonna be a good season.
    Gwon yoot.

There's pics of him getting tatt'ed on Instagram. He also built a music studio in the offseason. The car looks fast, but who knows.

I'll say with Hammie getting the nod over Rosberg he certainly handled it better than Vettel. He knew he was slow and Rosberg could have easily passed...even if Brawn doesn't think they owe Nico anything it seems that Hammie knows the score!

After watching Austin live with Kfz last year, I have grown to have more respect for Hamilton. After seeing the huggie thing with Nico at end of the race last Sunday, I truly have a 100% respect for the guy so GO Alonso, GO Hammie!

The difference is that Rosberg knew that he'd get fired if he did that.
Taking on them mountains. One hill at a time.

I hated his reaction after the race and am one of the man's biggest fans. If he wanted to be upset with the team it should have been for them not fueling him properly. He was in fuel saver mode right after the end of the first stint and that is unacceptable. The fact he brought it home in third is a testament to just how quick the mercedes is.

I'm sure it is a part of their learning curve. Bottom line is that they either allowed him to turn up the motor too long, or they simply miscalculated the fuel for the race. I'm sure it is all a fine line.
In the end Brawn made perhaps a bad call by not letting Rosberg pass? Funny how at RedBull it was exactly the opposite and nobody there is happy with the result either.

How many laps before the end did Mercedes tell Nico to hold station? Did both Mercs have fuel issues or just Lewis? I wonder if he had enough laps left would he have been able to push the Redbulls a bit (as their tires life was in question)...

LOL, the hate is seeping from every sentence you write. Let Rosberg out qualify Lewis first before you start making asinine statements like above.

    That's not gonna happen.

Also Lewis was on max fuel saving/coasting from lap 25 on I read at Sepang.

Nice to see Lewis on the front row in something other than a McLaren.

Lap 1 will be interesting for sure..... The top three guys are (1) out to prove something (2) ambivalent w/ nary a care in the world (3) on a mission to make his mark on the Tifosi and become a legend. Should make for an interesting morning....

How come there was more "love and affection" between LH and JB than with LH and the Ros?

  23. 04-13-2013 11:03 AM #234
I am really thinking that Lewis dodged a bullet by leaving McLAren for this year without knowing it at the time. Their car is a complete shed and it seems that they are being a bit stubborn about reverting back to last year's car.

    Simple: JB

Happy for Lewis. To snag pole on his third try is making a statement. Unfortunately, it takes a good race package to win and it looks to me like Ferrari and Alonso are in a good position.

    Gonna be great. Can't wait.

I tend to agree with you Stan....

There were skeptics.....(me partially)....., but the move was necessary. ABSOLUTELY necessary. And, as it turns out, the move looks to have been a good one.

As for Nico, I feel for him. But, the life, times and team reception/attention of a No. 2 F1 driver are tepid at best.

That being said, I'd be willing to bet that the financial compensation of these "poor" No. 2 "puppets" more than makes up for their peayump flinch reactions.....

I read that they had developed the old car as far as they could. With the current aero regs, they needed to switch to the different front suspension. I'm sure they will sort it, but will it be enough to fight for the WCC/ WDC?

Read that at least 1 F1 "Official" predicts a first pitstop around lap 2. Could that be Lewis? Did he trash his tires to get to pole??

I found it interesting that he said that during the first part of the race he couldn't get the right pace going, then all of a sudden the car came alive.
I'm wondering if there's something going on with that FRIC suspension that just isn't 100% yet.
It could explain why Rosberg had such an issue with the car a few races back. He said the rear stabilizer broke and he was going around the corner on three wheels.
There are definitely some strange things happening with that Mercedes.
