Nice! Personally, I don't commute. I wish CT, NY, or ME would give me something for not clogging up their roads at all for commuting.

Does anyone else carpool to work?I just received $100 in Sunoco gas cards from the state of NJ for carpooling a minimum of 24 out of 60 calendar days in my personal car with a co-worker of mine.
That's 4 full tanks of 93 for the Miata or about 1200 miles worth of driving

interesting. i will have to find info on this. I drive 100+ miles round trip and carpool 5 days a week.

It did take awhile. I found out about the program in mid-december and signed up. The two calendar months had to be continuous so I had to log January and February. I submitted my log in the beginning of March and just got the cards in the mail. But totally worth it for printing a form and faxing it in. 4 million programs to get money from the state and I finally qualify for one. Victory is mine!

Jared how did you find out about this? I'd be much more interested in car pooling if there was some free gas in the future

Going to start carpooling at the beginning of May. I don't know if MN has any incentives, but I do know that the MetroTransit-owned ABC Ramps in downtown Minneapolis offer $20/mo parking rates for carpoolers. Normal parking rates are $125+ depending on where you are, and I currently pay $5/day at a crap lot, so I'll be saving almost $100/mo.The walk will be quite far from my current lot, but I think I can handle the tradeoff.

They each chip in around $60/month if the van is full. So they get like 3 months paid for.

Yeah, I saw some stupid poster at work about car pooling.I think it was for the Navy though?
I don't even remember.
What are we talking about again?

I carpool 4/5 days of the week, and CT does have HOV lanes, but no incentives that I know of. However, none of the HOV lanes are on my commute![]()
