Spiders don't really bother me much, but will scare me if I happen upon one when I don't expect it. I used to work for the Michigan DNR, and outside one of our park ticket booths, a spider took up residence in one of the upper outside corners. I would feed him each day with various insects I would find by whipping them up into his/her web.

I had one of those in my (old) house awhile back. The cat will usually discover spiders and bugs under the couch or behind the dresser and start making a bunch of racket so we will always go investigate. I'd seen the video above so I used the "catch it in a Mason jar then slide a piece of paper underneath" method and set it free out in the yard.

Yeah, but how bout this one:

I saw one of those on my kitchen floor last year and stomped it. Babies were running everywhere. I killed every last one while yelling profanities, and then had to wash the floor and my slipper. Screw those things! The strange weather seems to have produced more of them this year, and I've found a bunch in the house. One in my bedroom while I was going to bed at 4AM, which I fought with the handle of a vacuum, and eventually killed. Bastard kept hopping around. They're tough to kill. The last one I hit 4 times with a mop before he died. I don't mind the non-poisonous snakes, rodents, or just about any insect, but I just can't stand any big spider like that.

This guy fell on me last week while I was pulling a box down from a shelf in the garage. Threw him in a cup of dried clearcoat, and got him high as a kite. Then he died.
