Ah I looked in the shed and found a shifter knob I salvaged of a 79 rabbit from the wrecking yard.Perfect fit.
Who ever put that 79 in that yard should be drugged to death by a Rabbit. A 09 with a 2.0t for that matter!

Replaced 25+year old axle (surprisingly with both ripped boots and bone dry it wasn't completely trashed, GO VW! )

Took it out for the first slalom event of the season and popped a brake line during tech inspection You can see the puddle of fluid under the car. Goodthing the event was just a Test & Tune and not part of the regular points season and better for it to pop a line during tech inspection. Time to replace all the lines.

I need a new drivers side rear mudflap for my truck as well

Got my 6th alignment in the span of a month of doing some front end work (wheel bearings, etc)

Car still pulls, wheel still shakes and is not centered.

I promptly yelled various swear words traveling home...thinking maybe my tires are screwed.

Still out of money...really need suspension...

X2 minus the non centered rim it could very well a seperated tire.If you spent that much money on alighnments they should have checked that problem.

I can only think of one car this would be clearly at home in..

did a bunch of little things last night... cleaned a braket or two, put in new valve cover gasket and freshly painted valve cover. R routed a few wires, few more zipties, a little paint here and there...

    1. Pulled various interior pieces for refinishing.
    2. Laughed/grimaced at the spray foam "insulation" job one of the PO's did behind the rear cards.
    3. Removed large chunks of aforementioned spray foam.
    4. Started tearing apart three driver seats to make one mint one.
    5. Admired my NOS flakes with brand-new P6's before putting it back in the garage.

    I picked it up !
84' coupe, beige on beige !

Doesn't run right now.. needs a starter, and a rad. Also needs wheel cylinders (and a brake bleed)

Went and picked it up for the staggering price of $FREE

Shell is in very good shape (considering it has 402,000kms)

I'm excited to have an A1 . . . my first VW was a scirocco.. then I went to mk2's (i still have one). . should be a fun project
