Thread: Interior dome light does not come on for Driver's door

The switch is in the correct position and the light comes on when the passenger door is opened.

Any idea what causes the light to activate? I cannot find a switch anywhere on the door frame. Maybe a magnetic switch in the door?

      Thanks for the help.

There's a switch in the door that gets damaged by constant slamming of the door. $200 in parts and 2 hours labor. Not a cheap fix.

You can't find it because it's an internal part of the latch mechanism. Other than that, as stated previously - and expensive part and a fair bit of labor.

If you're handy, patient, and confident, you may be able to solder a new switch to the existing latch. THIS http://www.taligentx.com/passa...nism/ will get you started.
