Correct. It's as if they use the hotel valet for when they go shopping on orchard. Maybe they do!

I was at the VW show on the Geelong foreshore today. This old dude was walking around and walked up to this other older dude next to me while we were looking at this Split Window Kombi and asked:

Do you know why they make them so low to the ground? Is it for wheelchair access?
"excessive chassis yaw" is a $176 fine.

Just spent two weeks pootling about southern France in a Peugeot 208 1.4HDI. Well, it wouldn't win a race pulling the skin off milk, but it did average 4.4L/100k over the 1640ks we did, mostly on D roads...and I also say 150kph on the speedon during a nice downhill section of autoroute. You want cheap motoring? With diesel at Eu1.35/L, it doesn't come much cheaper than this!

On the downside, this is about the 3rd Peugeot I've driven that has a fkn awful "A" pillar, that obstructs forward vision at key moments....like entering roundabouts What's that all about, Frenchies?

Silver AMG SLS with Melbourne Fashion Festival stickers all over it in the city. Almost ran up his ass when he decided to stop in a non standing zone without indicating. That would have been expensive!. Didn't realise how long, wide and low they are up close.

It's just got a slightly mobile rear end on it

Possibly a volunteer driver, transporting people around for the festival. Let's just say, the majority of drivers that volunteer to do this kind of gig are 'older' people. I did volunteer driving for the APIA Sydney International earlier this year and was one of the youngest drivers!! The organisers would dearly love younger drivers, but they don't have that luxury, they have to take any volunteers they can get.

If anyone is interested in driving for the APIA Sydney International (and the possibility of driving some hot tennis players around) - let me know and I'll put you on to the people organising it all.

Spotted a bright orange Merc S63 in Sydney CBD traffic yesterday. Looked like the orange C63 (Black edn?) that Merc had a couple of years back, but suspect it was a matte wrap.

Merc didn't bring in another Orange AMG did they?

Is there more back story on the lack of good taste surrounding this car?

    The Sydney NO SHOW

"There are as many absences as there are appearances at this year's event.

Half of the car brands on sale in Australia will not be at the 2012 Sydney motor show, which opens to the public on Friday morning.

BMW, Audi, Ferrari, Volvo, Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Maserati, Chrysler, Jeep, Lotus and Renault are among 26 brands that will be absent at this year's show, which is being touted as “one of the country's largest” motor shows.

The new breed of Chinese brands trying to gain a toehold in Australia, including Great Wall and Chery, are also missing, as is the only all-electric brand, Tesla.
    "

You would think that with the prices the Germans, and other Euros for that matter, rip us with in Aus the least they could do is turn up.

One of the starkest differences between living in this country and in Europe is the quality of the car shows. When we lived in the UK, I went to Earls Court Motor Show and was blown away by the variety of cars on display. Here it's as though the car manufacturers can't get even get out of bed.

I found it to be the lack of sunshine, but you know, you could be right, car shows could be more noticable...

Went to AIMS yesterday as a guest of Hyundai, lunch on the harbour and unveils after - what's on show is definately a let down. On the upside I did meet Lauren Eagle.
