Finally signed up for Vortex and my first post HAD to be in this thread! Hahaha.

This is Kunu. He'll be 3 this month! He's a big ole meatball weighing almost 30 pounds!
Had him since he was about 2 months old. Would really like to get another Boston when the time is right!

Question, how are the vet bills with these guys. I was looking a Frenchies but learned they are much like the english bulldog, very problematic when it comes to health. Seeing that the Boston Terrier also comes from the english bulldogg I was wondering if they too shared the same issues.
It seems that certain issues are past on through the genes..i.e. eye/ hip/ resporatory/ skin problems etc.

They typically can have breathing problems so be ready for snoring haha. They can have issues with their eyes but typically in the later years. My dad has 4 of them and I have 2 we take them to normal check up type appointments. Mine can be a little sensitive to certain foods. I've found the blue buffalo grain free seems to be working well. They are very loyal and pick up on things quick. Theyre not super hyper all the time but do have spurts.

If you purchase a quality dog from a breeder you shouldn't have to worry to much about vet bills. A good breeder breeds the dogs to better the breed and not for profit, so you will run into a higher price point. We have two Bostons one from a backyard breeder( we were uninformed stupid consumers) and another from a quality breeder. Sam( our back yard bred dog) has us soaring above 6k in vet bills over the two years of owning him. He has really bad skin allergies, eats a raw diet (which alone is a hight maintenance cost) and is currently seeing a Dermitoligist monthly to keep his skin in check. He means the world to me and I would spend every dollar I have on him to ensure he has a good quality of life.

Stella (our quality dog) hasn't cost a cent rather then routine vet visits. I strongly urge doing research for breeders and breeding practices in order to get a healthy dog.

this. we bought from a backyard breeder also, and our boston has major skin allergies, a bunk knee and has had a sever heart murmur for 6 years now. was diagnosed with it when she was 1.5, vet gave her 1 year to live. still kicking though.
