so i've had mean green aka sgt. VW for almost 3 years and i'm ready to start my first project. It started with wanting to repaint the car (due to the fact that people aren't spraying flat black any more) and i kept going from there
    PLANS
-complete gloss olive drab re-spray and EVEN length stars on the front doors
-2.0 aba obd1 motor with TT high flow valve kit with 3 angle valve job on head -done
-stage II kinetic motorsport turbo kit
-rebuilt 02a with peloquin LSD -done
    -recovered recaro trophies
-custom false floor and speaker box in trunk - in the works
-smoked e-codes and red tint tail lights
    -fk coilovers
-blah blah blah on with some pics
    before the tear down

    now with the tear down

Now with the paint job to be more on the cost effective side i chose to paint my door jams myself. yeah some spots have dirt nibs but so what this is not top dawg. i'm just having fun. mo pics
    before

    after

    hatch

tail lights with the tint. real easy

my dad an avid wood worker and i are going to make a wood surrond for my wolfsburg wheel. i haven't seeen it done and i can't wait till we are done.

    primered bay

and my favorite part of the car right now. custom made basket that i put placards on the outside. i also have/still need to mount my custom air horn complete with trucker style pull chain that i'm going to mount on the outside of the rack. then i can just reach out my window and give her a toot

    thats all for now

I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with. I've been wanting to turn a center for my Momo wheel from some nice curly maple for a while. Still looking for the right piece of wood.

oh yeah curly maple is gorgeous. i'm still not sure if i want to go with a dark stain/wood or a light stain/wood

it's easier to restain a light piece dark than vice versa.

what number is written on your passenger front frame rail in magic marker?

my '87 westmoreland gti has a 68 written on it. looks like you have a 70 something? i wonder what that's all about...

rolled her outside to clean up and organize my parts. i can't wait till my whole car is gloss olive drab

    before euro bumper

after euro bumper test fit not bolted in

    painted a mount and booster

sprayed my wheel wells (temporary suspension)

i made my false floor a couple weeks ago but wasn't sure on how i wanted the floor to be finished. originally i was going to get with my dad and make something with a stain finish but i had a change of heart. i also wanted to make my false useful, hence i'm going to put a spare tire access door

with tire. on the underside of the door i plan to secure my vw jack bag with a widow maker and a tire iron

    cover

so here is my idea i'm going to trim and flatten out license plates along the wood floor. i plan to make a battery box covered in plates for the floor too.
    use your imagination

nothing huge to update i got my steelies back!!! some miscommunication with the painter but luckily he's a friend of my rommates so we are clearing up the issue. but here is what they are going to look like.

i also did a fun project last night with this badge i found in a junk yard a year ago. i think i'm going to put it on my hatch to the right of my license plate.
    before polish

after i still need to hit it with a good polisher but i like it. if you look close you can see my hand and camera

thats all for now thanks for the support as well it keeps me going sometimss.

    next on the chopping block

always been a fan of this car. My old 4dr jetta had the same paint scheme, minus the black part where the star is. That makes it even funnier, because I painted the jetta like that, then saw your caron here.

holy crap its been awhile. i have all the jams painted and one door latch to polish. no pics.i like to start this update with a big thanks to my now ex-fiance for giving the ring back when we split. not only am i single with more money to spend on the car, but once i sell the ring the turbo kit is getting ordered!
    progress

the paint job on my wheels was crap so i had a guy powdercoat them white.
    before

after i'm thinking of a pinstripe but for now they look like this. 14 X 8

i fabbed up a nice and dirty mount for my horns on the rack. i painted them to. crappy pic

    mounted front shot

this is where the tank is going to sit and i'm going to mount the pull chain right above my door on the rack so if i want to (and i will ) i can be driving, reach up, and give that sucker a blast. the tank holds 120 PSI and a good blast only uses 5-7 PSI

there sit my beautiful trophies waiting patiently to go into the car, i scored them from a buddy for $200

now i'm going to start with building the motor. techtonics high flow valve kit 40mm intake 34 exhaust. the head will be going out within the week

got an idea for the wood floor that me and a buddy just tried out recently.

your painter buddy should be able to help you with this. we used teik (think it's spelled right?) and sprayed 3 coats af candy red and 12 coats of clear, the 12 coats helps make it so you can sand it glass smooth. coolest thing i ever saw
