I love the olympic figures, I wonder if they have them at local toy stores or not.

Side note, I noticed they're really pumping out the regular Series of Minifigures quick. I remember that series 4 and 5 were out almost a year, then 6 came less than a year later, 7 6 months later, now they show 8? No way i can keep up with buying, let alone finding them all.

I am not sure if they are exclusive to the UK and or if Team GB is the only version available, but they are cool and was glad to get a few.

I want to get the fire brigade and grand emporium before they are unavailable and I was actually thinking about ordering two of each and then selling the extas after the sets are discontinued for a profit.

Oh, I loved the Arctic technic sets. They were awesomesauce!

Also, this has been making its way around the tubes, and I assume many of you have seen it already, but this is a Lego picture thread after all...

Gotta love those old city sets. There's still a bunch of Lego at my parents house that my brother and I should sort through.

After a few years of admiring some of the new sets and wanting them but never pulling the trigger, I finally said "screw it" and started buying some. Here's my (very small) list: http://www.brickset.com/search/?ownedBy=odueck Still waiting for three of these to be delivered. I'm mainly interested in buildings (architecture, modular, Creator houses) and vehicles.

    Built this yesterday:

I made three mistakes. The first I caught fairly early, but it was too late to fix without starting from scratch and didn't affect functionality. The second I noticed right away and was able to correct easily. The third, well, I didn't notice until I was done. I missed one of the many, many gears and the arm doesn't move up and down. Guess I will have to rebuild it.

The only reason I have those old 80's sets in my list is that I (surprisingly) still have the instructions for them.

Otherwise I never would have known!

Tell me about it. Go a page or two back, I listed a Technic flatbed towtruck that I built. I had to rebuild it and I still made another mistake...

So far this year I've picked up:

    Millennium Falcon

I paid $80 for 8288 in 2008. I am surprised how much it has gone up.

I rebuilt the excavator the other day and sure enough, I made another mistake.

Just got done building tbe Fire Brigade. It's my first modular building and I'm quite impressed. I'll have to pick up the Grand Emporium next.

The wife and I made a stop at the LEGO store at Tyson's. F that store. Small and stupid crowded with aloof parents and their poorly-trained children. We'll make the trip to the one at Potomac Mills from now on instead.

For the wife (just came out yesterday):

    For me:

And we got 3 of these for free for spending so much.

This logging truck is about 5x as complex as the flatbed truck I had to rebuild 3 times... This one has only one motor but two switched transmissions for the various functions. Crazy.

Yup. 70,000 pieces, 135 pounds, just over 7 feet in length. It took me 475 hours over 21 months to build.

Oh you built that? That's insane man! Talk about dedication. Most think oh it's just plastic bricks haha but I'm sure there are only a few in the world who could make something of this scale. The level of detail on that thing is crazy! WOW! Do any parts of it open up to reveal the inside?
