A few members of our LUG built a habitat display for Series 8 Collectible Minifigures. It can be seen at the Lego Store in Fairview Mall, Toronto for the month of September 2012.

Built by Claire, Joanna, Mel, blueandwhite, DarthNick, Sly-MOCs and dr_spock

We made an impromptu trip to the LEGO store at Potomac Mills yesterday.

    My wife picked up:

    and I got:

I really wanted the new B-Wing Ultimate Collector but it was $20 more than R2 but had 600 fewer pieces... I figure I'll have to time to get it eventually since it just came out.

My wife was going to get the Winter Village Bakery too but the LEGO store didn't get it and we couldn't find it at Target or two different Toys R Us'. We'll order it online, I just gotta figure out what set I'll get for myself.

I finished R2 last night, he's pretty awesome.

We just placed an order at Lego.com for more stuff:

    For her

    For me

    Just because

And some sets for our niece and nephews that we're visiting in CO in November:

    7-year old niece

5-year old nephew (he gets 2 because these were only $10, the other kids got $20 sets)

    2-year old nephew

Nice finds, we picked up the new holiday building (the first one) this weekend along with an advent calendar (Friends, but it's my daughter who picked it out)... Already have the prior 3 holiday buildings, our village gets a little bigger this year

^^^ That's not Krang!? And what happened to the van?
    Stupid new nick TMNT series.

Any idea why lego doesn't offer hyper realistic sets like AFOL's create?

This. Im sure a set like above would cost $500+ easily.

    But they are awesome.

    Rolling eyes an odd choice?

Anyhow... I wonder if there really is NO market for halo models like these.
I think there would be an adult following willing to pay the price of entry.

Hell... look at the other LEGO sanctioned realistic static models

Old MacDonald holds a Halloween party in a barn. There is an uninvited guest. Can you spot the ninja before something bad happens to someone?

finally got around to finishing this set (awesome set):

oddly enough, it's only the second set on my almost twenty years of building Lego, that had missing pieces. there seemed to be a large amount of spare parts, however, the missing parts were for the toy boat in the loft. took care of it on Lego's site, and they should arrive within ten days.

    welcome to the layer cake

Funny you mention that. One of the sets my wife recently bought was missing a piece.

Thanks. Each of the zombies are hand made. I chopped up a skeleton figure and incorporated it into 3 of the zombies. Here's an alternate lighting shot:

You guys are your MOCs, you're nuts!
    That zombie scene is awesome.

I would totally join the Toronto LUG, but I don't think I have the skills.

I am not part of the ToroLUG, but you should totally join!! NEVER doubt your own skill!! The whole idea behind LUGs is to get together, have fun, collaborate and help each other to grow and expand their skills and enjoyment of LEGO!
