      The object of my desire:

      4-door Golf
      TDI
      Candy White
GTD package (black headliner, top sport seats black leather)
      170 hp
      6 speed manual
      xenon lights with curve-function

      37,000 Euros!!!!

The U.S. spec tdi doesn't look that bad after all.

I was at the autostadt a week ago and saw quite a few GTDs on the assembly line, really attractive car, but at that price, I just could not justify it.

I agree. Seems a lot for gti-bumpers and a black headliner. I am fine with the way the new golf tdi looks... It would be nice to get leather interior (or v-tex) over the cloth (due to my furry dogs).

That car should be a screamer. I drove the Eos 2.0 TDi and it impressed the heck out of me. My TDI engines have all been the smaller 1.9 liter.

agree... no need for GTD. a golf tdi w/ leather and nice convenience options like auto dim rear view mirror and dual-zone climatronic and i will likely be buyig my first golf and tdi...

That's also going to be a car that people order with no "GTD" emblem on it....just so they can shock the heck out of a smarta$$ trying to pass the "plain old Golf".

It's never been a straight Euro to USD conversion though.

The GTD is less expensive than the GTI.

I know we can't make a direct dollar to euro comparison, but a nicely equipped GTD is Euro 37,000 compared to a similarly optioned "comfortline" 2.0 (140 hp) TDI at 32,000. That is a 5K difference. So, it is still hard to justify a gti body + 30 hp and a black headliner and some badges for that type of premium. Just sayin'

I'd do it. 13.5% premium for the sport seats/interior, GTI exterior, +30 hp, sport suspension, upgraded brakes? Everyone has different priorities, but I'd be all over that if they shipped them to the US.

      I wouldn't mind a GTD 4dr in:

      Laser Blue
      DSG
      RNS510
      Bluetooth
      Dynaudio
      Cold weather pkg
      and Bi-Xenons

but I'd be happy with a Golf TDI in that spec

I'll take one just like this in Black. Where do I sign VWoA?
