It does seem much shorter when it is dry...we used the track again yesterday...close to the same course that is in the video except we ran it the other way. I ran a 78.3 on street tires - FTD was a 67 - Pro H-Stock ran it in 73.

Here is a video of a z.06 running the course from 5-9...this was 9/10s of a mile long. He ran a 78, compared to my 90

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dmkNTFhWNsU

That's pretty cool. Although being a road-course with cone-gates reminds me a LOT of Project Gotham on X-Box...

The finish seems a bit scary... with how you're running full-speed towards the start line.

I forgot to look at how long the course I ran at CBP last week was... although the odometer/speedo in my car isn't accurate... it was pretty long, though... fast times were in the upper 60's.

Thanks for the input, guys! While I would like to eventually get a better video camera for general use, I did opt to buy the Motorsports Hero. The site claims the new 5MP camera has improved audio and video. We shall see. I went for the Hero for two reasons:

    1) Is small, shoots 5MP still photos as well as video, and it already comes with everything I need for mounting to the car/helmet/interior; and

    2) I accidentally got a decent discount... a Hero with 2GB card shipped to my door for $177.

You might be able to get the discount on purpose. Check this out - Visit the site at http://www.goprocamera.com/ and add a camera with 2MB memory card to your cart. Fill in all of the info needed to place an order, particularly your e-mail address. Continue on to the payment page, but don't fill in your CC info. Instead, either navigate to another site or close the window. I received an e-mail within the hour inticing me to complete my order with a 10% discount and free shipping, a savings of ~$34.

The Hero was a tough toy to pass up at that price. I'll be sure to shoot some video at my June autocross event and post it here.

    Take Care,

    Scott

My Solo Vee camera crapped out last weekend. But my wife got a good video of her best run in her Solstice GXP. 2nd in AS. She is really getting the hang of it!

More "on-car" rather than "in-car" video.

Bumper cam, day 1 Finger Lakes National Tour.

Just ffwd through the first minute or so, the go-pro doesn't have a remote, and I don't have a video editor.

    Hey,

I finally got to make some recordings with the Motorsports Hero I mentioned. My 11-MB compilation of videos can be downloaded HERE. CLICK HERE if you're really adventurous and want to DL all five of the video clips (55-MB file).

    Later,

    Hello,

I decided to add some music and photos to my video and make a late Father's Day memory (the event was on Father's Day). I think it turned out pretty good. CHECK IT OUT (13-MB).

3 speeds are better than no speeds. I LOVE 010 AUTO TRANSMISSIONS!!

If you need ANYTHING from China, let me know. I'm not talking about door handles. I'm talking containers of anything made there. I can cut out all the middlemen.

Not the best video, but good for a cheap camera and mount

Here's a link to one of my autocross videos. Taken with a Nikon Coolpix S610 mounted to the rollcage. Not a glamorous setup, but considering I already had the digital point and shoot camera it gets the job done quite nicely.

(I still can't figure out how to embed Photobucket videos on forums like people do with Youtube, so please excuse the link.)

And link to a few more autocross videos in my "album."

This is the closest in-car I got. In fact, it's one of the only two videos of I have of me in the M3.

In the 90s a couple of times on that course. We've seen triple digits at that sight before with BMWCCA.

Great day for an autocross. Good thing TX has ridiculous weather. It was 60 deg today and it's supposed to get down to the teens by Thursday.

I need to work on driving a better line and on setup. Car was under sprung and under damped. This year should be a good year for training.

Yesterday on a mildly wet track and cold street tires. But cleared up and dried up after lunch.

    While on leave from deployment:

First time autocrossing the 2009 GLI. Over 300 pounds heavier than the 2009 Rabbit I used to autocross, so I am still getting used to the handling. Definitely not as easy to throw around. Got some 235 Star Specs waiting at home so that should help a little.
