    Thread: I have a 94 Jetta with a 2.0L that just won't start.

I have a 94 Jetta with a 2.0L that just won't start. I doesn't want to turn over. I replaced the starter, I put another ignition switch and attached it to the ignition wire. Still nothing. It won't turn over. I put the key in and turn it and all of the lights come on, just won't turn over. My wife and I did pop start it the one day but doesn't seem like a reliable way to start it. I was trying to find the trigger for the cluch so it doesn't start without it and can't find it. Anyone have any suggestions? I want my Jetta back, I have been driving around with my daughters Metro and it just doesn't cut it. Please help.

94s don't have a clutch switch. VW started installing them in 96.

Have you tried jumpering the starter solenoid directly to the battery to see if the starter will turn? You could have bad wiring between the ignition switch and the stater solenoid.
