The Golf GTI and the new Polo are Volkswagen highlights this spring. Both are launching right now, and both are successors to absolute bestsellers. Both are prime examples of affordable automotive dreams. The GTI for sure, because it is the icon among compact sports cars. And the Polo, because it is small but not meager. That is why these cars have what is possibly the biggest active fan club in the world. Once a year they meet at Wörthersee. This time Volkswagen has brought along two sensational concept cars of the new bestsellers: special “Wörthersee 09” editions of the Golf GTI and Polo... FULL STORY...

That's what I want in the GLD! Best red I've seen and really like the red accents on the interior.

WOW!!! If only they would bring and if I were in the market. Maybe if the same features were in a Passat Wagon???
I drive a wagon... even if you beat me, can you brag about it?

Very nice! The GTI looks awesome in 'Firespark Metallic' and BEST of all no orange reflectors in the bumper cover.

13. 05-20-2009 09:16 PM #13
I'd take either... The red on the GTI is one of the best colors I've seen in a long while.

how much different is "fire red" from the mk IV's matchstick red?

I'd take the Polo for the winter and GTI for summer.

I wonder if these are the same wheels ... maybe minus the red stripe ...
And AudiVWMeister, I think there's a lot of difference between this red and the Matchstick Red on that MkIV - it just doesn't look like it's the lighting alone. But I could be wrong.

I want that color! Best red ever. I also love the seats with leather bolsters but cloth center sections. That is the way to go, limit wear on the sides, but cooler and grippier in the middle. Add heated seat option and I am all over it.

so, when do we get the metallic blue Waterfest Edition with slashed tires and broken beer bottles as standard equipment?
I guess an H2Ointernational Edition would be nicer
