whos running wide tires? 235 or greater

Picked up my 245/35 p-zeros today... probably ordering the wider wheels for them next week.

so who else is running wide tires? i know danGSR is because his threads have helped me a lot.

im super excited and impatient....let me see you car (235 or above)! please add offset and wheel width too

i'm running 235/40's on my stock 17 inch wheels. what a ridiculous difference in cornering capability with the larger contact patches! you will be pretty stoked once you take your favorite sweeper 10 mph faster for the first time.

i'll take some pictures tomorrow of my setup... but i do have to say you made a mistake with your tire choice. its all about the dunlop direzza star specs

i knew i'd get a comment or two about the tires...and i shoulda got star specs
my dad has the pzeros too though and they are pretty sticky but pretty quiet also.... if i was to ever autocross or track it for real i'd have 17's with star specs.

you have sways btw?

even for street use only, the star specs are looney... but the pzeros are certainly a nice tire too.

yea, i have an H&R 24mm rear bar set to full stiff and some 10mm spacers in the back. besides that, the rest of the suspension is stock...

I'm running 235/40's on my 18x8's... i believe my offset is 48, but i don't remember off the top of my head-

I don't have a good pic showing the difference... but i parked next to a GTI running 225's on huffs, and for some reason mine looked quite a bit wider

Im running 2..... 245/45r17's up front. does that count?

I havent officially "ran" them yet but Ive driven them around a bit with no rubbing.

Wont be fulling tested until I get my RSS kit on and get to the track.

Should help "some" with my wheel spin problem

they are et43 on all 4 corners. its too much on the front, but the rear is perfect IMO. but it doesnt matter much, im selling the wheels anyway. i need suspension badly.

yea no kidding, best handling for the buck upgrade after the rear sway bar...

i'm impressed you got the 245s on the 7.5" wheel. do you have a close up of the sidewall? i was going to go there with this last set tires, but stuck with the 235s because i was worried that that wide a tire would jack up the sidewall and throw off the flex characteristics when under side load

I had the chance to lap beside an E92 M3 during the track day that picture is from.

It was running stock tires, so I didn't know how it would stack up. In the end, it would gain a few car lengths in the straights, but then I'd gain a football field every braking zone and corner group.

That kind of affirmed my philosophy that its more sensible to pay for a reasonable car with nice tires than a nice car with reasonable tires. Cheaper too.

I had Z1s in 225/40 18s on hufeisens last year, and they flexed much less than these, but in the end, these do generate more cornering force. If I were buying them for the street, there is no question that I'd go with a size more proportional to the wheel's width.

Edit: I chose to buy 7.5" wheels because they were a steal.

I love functional upgrade threads soooo much. I'm looking upgrade my stock p-zero 225's to 235's. I was worried about how 'meaty' the 235's would look on my 18x8's but from what i've seen in here it won't be too bad.
