Caught this Kingfish last weekend on a charter boat down here.

First time I got to eat something I caught. Half of this thing fed three grown ass men.

Good stuff, Laser. Every time I fish I catch sandsharks and dogfish (sharp bastards with the glowing eyes). Hate those things.

The CT state record Bonito was caught this weekend off the coast of Clinton.

We're expecting some false Albies really soon.

I've been doing a lot of small mouth river fishing here lately. Hooked into a smallmouth of a lifetime yesterday evening, faught him for probably 10 mins or so, went to lip him and he took one last jump/shake and lure popped right out. Biggest bass I've ever had on the line. I sat in disbelief for probably half an hour on the side of a rock... Around the 6-7lb. range, I'm still blown....

It happens. We've had monster Stripers take line and then, boom, snap. It pisses me off and no matter how much you want to "move on to the next play," that **** still bothers me and I think about it endlessly.

wish the river i am currently fishing was that nice. been a tough couple weeks, though i did scratch out some hatchery steelhead in the lower columbia river on the washington side. bonked a total of three that morning.

Haven't had much time to fish lately. Work picked up and being on call 24/7 doesn't let me get far from home with a two hour call. Damn railroad. Did manage to fish the St. Joe river the other night. Managed two walleyes and a northern jigging in the dark. My buddy from Georgia had a blast.

Just scheduled a salmon charter out of Ludington the 23rd of next month for my bachelor party. Stoked!

Book a charter boat and get out on the big lake! Southern shore should be loaded with salmon getting ready to stage for the spawn...

headed to the Oregon coast for two weeks to camp and do some plunking for salmon and steel.
just picked up the new Okuma SST 1062H, 20-60lb 4-16oz. and in the middle of building my own rod holder to pound into the beach, and fix a bell to the tip.

      9 working days and counting...

Combination 3 day kayak/fishing trip starting tomorrow: First Lake Superior, then paddling/carrying UP the White River past Chigamiwinigum Falls for a couple of hours to half-a-day, the running down if levels allow. All punctuated by fishing for walleye below the rapids.

The bad news: Tripping in a white water kayak seriously limits the amount of gear you can carry: No tent (tarp & bivy), 4-piece rod and a tiny tupperware bin as a tackle box

The good news: Fishing pressure? What fishing pressure??

PS - I'll try to find space for a camera in my boat

Broke in my new Pflueger Triton light spinning rig and caught this little largie out of a pond in Harford County, MD on a 6" dark red Senko (Texas-rigged). I watched the fish take the worm in about one foot of water right up near the shoreline:

Just got back from Ocean City NJ for a week with water temps right around 80 degrees. Lots of throwback flounder and sea bass as well as some snapper bluefish. Nothing picture worthy but still pretty good action all week. Hopefully for next years vacation our boat will have its motor back in it.

WOW! That's a gorgeous fish! What did you get him on?

I spent yesterday evening fly-fishing for smallies from a pontoon boat. I don't think any one of them broke two pounds, but I must have landed 30+. The most fun I've had fishing in a looong time. They were so aggressive that the bait (plugs & artificial mouse) didn't even hit the water on several occasions.

Heading to Jessie Lake (Nipigon) for specks sometime in the near future...

Jigflies... Jessie lake has some good spec/laker fishing.. If you are going, make sure you check out the gorge in the north end of the lake and bring your camera!

Launch leaves a little bit to be desired though, it's pretty crap.

My brother in law is friends with a farm owner, who just happens to have the most awesome, secret, private fishing pond on his property. I took my son, and we spent this past Saturday afternoon catching loads of LM bass - and on my new light spinning rig it was a BLAST.

My son with his first catch of the day

Me and my son with one of the smaller fish of the day

Me with my largest catch of the day - I'd say this guy was about 3, maybe 3-1/2 lbs

And here was the trophy bass, caught by my brother in law - this fish had to go six or seven lbs - it was a monster! (and he caught it on a really small curly tail jig)

It was insane - every fourth or fifth cast would be a 'fish on' - and they were hitting every kind of lure, worm, jig, spinnerbait...did I mention it was a blast?

Doesn't get much better than private farm ponds. Looks like a great way to spend a day.
My parents spent the weekend at their house right near the Delaware Bay in NJ and my pop caught blues and small stripers from the beach. Croakers and weakfish mixed in. If I wasn't busy this weekend I would be heading down.

      ^ excellent!

In a year or two you may even get to catch a fish again
My youngest became fully self-sufficient from dealing with bait and casting to untangling minor birds nests and releasing fish at about age 5, so there is hope.
