Went up in the mountains for a couple days with a buddy for some hunting/fishing/getting away time. Bivy'd on the shore of this lake which was kind enough to put out fish and only take a couple lures in return. Weirdest part about it all was how we caught them. First day we only hooked rainbows, second we only hooked brookies and third we caught both but released all the rainbows. Some of the same tackle was used to catch both from the same locations too.
Picture of the lake right after we arrived. I was pretty beat from a tough hike earlier and just threw on flip flops and relaxed for a bit.
Day one dinner, 5 rainbows. Tender little guys between 5-8"
Day 2 dinner, some bigger fish. 10", 12" and 13" brook trout and a couple smaller brookies to round it out.
Day 3, more brookies, biggest at 13".
