cool thread, haven't been out bass fishing yet but I've got my spots all picked out. IM me if you have any good spots in the Niagara Region, I would appreciate it.

I was out yesterday at the "secret spot" I was at on opener. We did pretty good. 9 largemouth and 1 smallmouth. Quantity wasn't really there but the quality was. Smallest was 2 1/2 pounds and three over 5 pounds including the smallmouth.

All fish except one came on a jig and pig and finesse tackle (7'6" broom stick and 50 to 80 pound braid ). Bass fishing is by far the most fun.

Those are some nice sized Bass! I was out on Friday and with my brother in-laws and the small mouths we hooked were pretty small just over a pound - but they tasted really good!
Give us a hint on the secret spot...

It's more like a overlooked spot. Most people including the cottagers would never think to fish it. At this time of year largemouth like to get in tight to cover, makes it fun to hunt them down.

Made it out last night to the Pickering nuclear station with my little guy. 4 smallmouth, 3 for him, 1 for me. Smallest one was about a pound and my little guy got 2 around 3 pounds.
You guys might find this hard to believe but the 2 bigger fish had some odd growths on them.

There wasn't a whole lot of action up at the cottage as I mainly threw larger lures looking for Pike. On the first day out I had two follows, one of them looked to be in the 38"-40" range. Then nothing till the next day when I hooked into a nice little 32" pike. The next day I thought I hooked into another pike but it was a nice smallie (maybe 4lbs?). Took the kids fishing a few times, theres some pics of my oldest boy fishing. I was pretty impressed as he even unhooked the little perch he caught all by himself.

It's bass season buddy. Musky (and everything else) become a nuisance after opener.

Isn't it amazing how the kids are attracted to the panfish. The colours are amazing. Keep taking the kids fishing Shawn.

Didn't have my pole with me this weekend as I was hoping for surf but the water was way too calm :/ I need to go west coast. Talk to a few guys fishing though. Strangely gobies are a problem down there as well.

Bass seem to be a nuisance when Pike/Musky fishing. Notice the large jailbird colored Lungen Krusher hanging out of the mouth on that smallie? lol

Since we're just posting pics.
My son's first pike. He was so excited he was shaking.

His first sucker. He was almost 3.

A small Bay of Quinte walleye taken in December. I don't look too happy that day. I'll see if I can find some pics of the big dogs.
