So, as suggested by another member, I thought it would be cool to start an Oly thread for those that are fans of the µ4/3, 4/3, OM and other Olympus systems.

Olympus has always been kind of the outcast/underdog of the photography world with Canon and Nikon being at the top. Olympus has developed some of the greatest technology in the photography world just in the past few years and is now becoming a huge competitor to the other systems out there.

This thread should be used for showcasing your Olympus related photos, gear, news, and other general questions or comments you may have. This thread will by no means be used for comparing Olympus systems to other systems and I would appreciate if the CaNikon, among other groups, to keep this thread on topic. Thanks.

Also, please mention the equipment you were using when posting a photo. Thanks

Not the idea I had for the topic thread.

I was thinking something like "The unOFFICAL OLYMPUS thread". We could start off by saying what we are using for gear, ect....

    What does everyone else think?

you take some nice shots, I remember the pool shot and the pooch...

BTW - go for the FL50R as the recycle time and power are much better. I've seen any number of people move very quickly form the FL36 for those reasons. Yes it's a bit larger but with that comes a big difference in ability. I use the eneloops and they are by far the best rechargeables I've got, they last a long time, recycle quickly and hold a charge longer than the rest.

Thanks! I know everyone in here is pretty good about the whole "my gear is better than yours" thing, but there are a few trolls every now and then that like to ruin it for everyone. Thanks for the support

Sorry to hear OM-1's are a dime a dozen and you could prob pick up a few extras for parts if you really wanted to. I know my local shops have them all the time and you can find a bunch on ebay.

    Oh, and valfaw, nice list!

I shoot Nikon and sometimes when I'm at the store I pick up an Oly, touch it, play with it, and then quickly put it down and look around to see if anyone saw.

But honestly, I've always been impressed with their bodies AND lenses. I don't know why they're always overlooked.

Yes sir! Unfortunately that's at a resort - but it was a free ride from the company for this humble technician.

hyatt regency - pretty nice if I'm honest! but my sis-in-law lives on kauai and I've been all over that island. being that it was a company thing we only got to do tourist things (which was nice to have paid for) but I didn't get to explore maui at all. i would have loved to see the craters and hana, instead i was watching drunk people and seasick people on a snorkel tour lol.

Love hawaii - was wondering if your cat's name was influenced....

    Thanks for bringing this back.

I haven't had any time to shoot. Work has been killing me.

Going to Lake Echo next week, so I should be coming back with a hefty amount of shots...
