    Pre-ordered to OM-D.

The EP-3 is either going on sale this weekend or after it gets here. It fixes the complaint I had of either have a viewfinder or hotshoe. Now we can have both!

I really think I'm going to post my e30 w/ grip and a few other things to get this when the first price drop rolls in or a used one.

It's looking too good with all the posted examples around.

for the pre-order, you go black or silver???

Silver. I almost bought black because it's more discrete, but decided that I wanted to blink more.

Snot terribly. Looks fine at that size.

Here's some photos from food reviews. Most are done with the Lumix 20 f/1.7 as the Oly 45 is a bit long to use when sitting at a table. It's become my go to camera for this because the compact size fits well on my bike, which I ride to most of the restaurants I review, and it's a lot less of an "event" getting it into a restuarant and taking photos rather than my 5D MKII. I use a Crumpler 5MDH with the Oly and the 5DII for reviews, but pulling out a large DSLR with the 17-40 f/4L feels like advertising to everyone in the room that you're there for something.

Bonus of the 4/3 system is that the site I write for requires photos te be 640x480, which is the same ratio and means I don't have to be as mindful of shooting for a crop and can frame my photos in camera.

I really can't wait to get the OM-D.

This is what I carry the Oly on.

If you guys want to see more, check out the reveiws on TopThisPlace.com by Will K. Most all of the later ones were done with the Oly. I think the first one was the Blue Moon Cafe.

I've donated framed prints to our daughter's school fundraisers over the years.
    LR3/sinver efex 2

crappy snap to get the idea of framed result...

the weird lines are reflections and not in the print.

It's nice to see prints as opposed to just looking at a screen all the time... note to self...

That's why I miss Ritz. A friend of mine was a manager and would hook me up with prints for next to nothing.

I swung by one of the camera shops today and got my mits on an E-P1. I think I'm sold on taking the dive on a Micro 4/3 set up.

It felt really comfortable in my hands considering its size and had a great bit of manual control and menu accessibility that will be probably be pretty easy to learn after a few days of adjustment/familiarity. If I end up buying it (most likely) I'll be mounting my Canon FD 50 f/1.8 or my Zuiko 50 f/1.8 glass via adapters. It should be a pretty good street set up

Fwiw, KEH has a few GREAT deals on these bodies right now

They're pretty vesatile. I think one of the only things that could really make them better is a bigger sensor with better IQ. Now, if they could only do this without increasing the size of the lenses, it would be one hell of a camera.

It's nice to finally see an oly get a really good review on dpr. Olympus has really made some great improvements in terms of dynamic range and high iso performance, among plenty of other things, with this camera. Now they just need to work on continuous af and produce some fast m4/3 zooms. I can't wait to see what they come up with for the E-7 or the next OM-D.

went to the Mitty at Road Atlanta this weekend, I need to work on my panning but was a good time.

So who's going to be the first to post with the OM-D? I know a couple people that have preorders in but are too far away for me to check it out when they get them.

Anyone ever use the Sigma 30mm f/1.4? Just ordered one, reviews seem pretty good. Some of the Nikon guys mentioned possible backfocusing and a little slow AF on some of their bodies.

I had one for a bit. It was a nice lens. I picked it up used from another Oly shooter locally from flickrs buy sell section for the e system group that if I remember had it serviced before I got it. It rendered nicely, was pretty sharp and had a nice feel. I sold it as I got a deal on a panasonic full L1, 14-50mm f2.8-3.5 & 25mm f1.4 kit that I found on CL.

If you have a e620/e30/e5 you'll be able to adjust the focus in camera, if not you'll have to send it in if it has issue. I used it adapted on my pen as well and it did a nice job.

You'll enjoy the extra speed and it'll take a bit of getting used to to nail focus due to the narrow DOF.

All in all a nice lens for the money and solid performer.

I'm redoing my LR catalogs after it got corrupted or I'd find a few of my shots with it.

Awesome, good to hear! This one is used also, the listing said he took maybe 30 shots with it. Reputable seller on ebay, sells a lot of camera stuff and has 100% positive feedback. Got it for $350 so I figured I can't go wrong. I actually will be using it on my E620, I'll have to go through the settings to find the focus adjust again just in case I need it. Totally forgot about that option

I think mine was $325/350 and sold for similar so not a bad price. For awhile they were going sub $300 but you should be able to get most/all your money back that you are in it for should it not work out.

I suspect though you'll have a great time with it.

Just decided, I think I have to do it folks... OM-D is screaming for me and I need to consolidate regardless.

    throwing it here as not sure how many of the Oly shooters check the sell adds around here I'm going to list my;

$650 - e30 bought new from calumet last Oct and still warranted/box/everything as new/screen cover from new/2gb CF card
and $775 w/ HLD-4 bought new at the same time in October
    $315 - E1/shld-2 extra battery/charger/manual/cables/discs/2gb cf card/wrist grip and neck strap.
    $240 - e-p1/14-42/box/charger/extra battery/4gb sdhc

will entertain offers as well... PM me for pix or any interest.

prices include shipping flat rate insured CONUS

Just thought I'd post a shot from this morning. Went out hoping to shoot the sunrise for next weeks 52 week theme, but instead got hammered by grey sky and fog so I worked with it. Luckily the current theme is "10 minutes from home" which this place was. Thank you Mother Nature

Hey guys just wanted to jump in here, I am really interested in learning more about photography and how to shoot better. I currently use a E-520 with the kit lenses. My passion is mostly automotive but I want to expand and start taking other photos. Here are a couple of my shots please feel free to C&C these photos.
    Thanks

I took just my E-P3, 45 f/1.8, and 20 f/1.7 to Ocean City, Md this weekend for the classic car show. I'll post up photos when I get them edited. I felt sorry for the people walking the boardwalk with DSLRs and large lenses. I'm glad I left my 5D MKII kit at home. It would have been a pain to lug around. I did miss some photographic opportunities, but it wasn't anything that I was too worried about since I was shooting just to shoot and not for a client or not working on a portfolio shot or personal profject.

This roller came out great! You must have steady hands to get one that sharp at 1/40th sec with f5! Nice work!

The shots of the Evo are nice, but a little dark for my taste and the white balance is slightly off (on the cool side). You're off to a good start though

To me, the Pen line brought back the fun in photography. I really love using legacy glass now.
