Looks good. Nice work so far!
Pulled the spoiler assembly of the C yesterday. Spent about 2 1/2 hours cleaning and re-greasing everything. Noticed that the motor was nearly f***ed. One of the contacts had cracked and was shorting itself out on the housing. All kinds of melted plastic and crap came spilling out when I opened it. Re-soldered the connections and insulated the contact and now it works great again. All in all about 4 hours to take out, clean/fix and throw it all back in.

Took it to the shop for the timing belt and tensioner to be replaced and new heavy duty water pump and housing. Whoever worked on it last also had the timing of by 3 teeth on the belt I found out so it should be running much better when it comes back

I couldnt justify spending $300 on a cold air intake for my vr so i set out to make one. Total cost was $50 and maybe an hour install time. I picked up the 3" aluminum tube from www.siliconeintakes.com which is 2' long with a 45 degree bend in the middle. Fit pretty good with no modifications but needed to be shortened by 6" on the MAF sensor side to move it farther behind the fender. Anyways on to the pics
The power is pretty noticable and the sound is alot different from a cut air box.

LAST NIGHT!
On Highway 2 last night on my way home I went head-on with a muffler clamp that was kicked up from the road by the car in front of me. How do I know it was a muffler clamp you ask, when I got home I had the pleasure of pulling out.
TONIGHT!
On my way home after dropping off my daughter my car quit at the intersection of Chambers & 40th. When I got home I confirmed what I suspected.
I'M ABOUT READY TO PUT A MATCH TO THIS THING AND TAKE IT TO THE JUNYARD!

Done recently:
20th AE lower center console with cupholders
Brushed aluminum look with Scotchbrite pad
Remote antenna extension (amazing range now!!!!)
K&N drop in with air box modded
Spray paint exterior plastic trim including lower valances and radio antenna mount
Installed Monday:
20th AE suspension (coils and shocks)
Strut mount bushings
Tierod ends
Alignment
Dunlops…225/45/r17 on my Audi Fat Fives
Prothane dogbone mount
Brake pads, rotors, flush, and new fluid
Serpentine Belt
The car now sits lower and more level. Believe it or not, I got a 1.5” drop in the back and 1” drop in the front. The 2.0 suspension was crap!
Just ordered the Audi TT/ R32 control arm bushings Tuesday.
To Do:
HD control arm bushings install
Grey leather door cards for rear doors (looking for a set)
Replace rear door window molding (looking to purchase)
Finish install of window regulator
Possibly window tint if I can find it installed for a good enough price...$140 for my 4 door hatchback is the best quote so far.

The day after I installed it, we had that little rain/snow mix. I drove it home from Red Robin with no problem. Got home and took the filter off to see how wet everything was. The Filter was wet but the pipe and everything else way dry. Water isnt really an issue unless u submerge the cone and create a suction.

Technically it is a VW-Porsche so I think it will be OK to post in here. I put the original wheels back on and raised the front. Gotta take it back to the tire shop, they put one of the tires on the wrong direction, didn't notice until I was raising it. Had to roll the rear fender lips slightly to keep the tires from rubbing.
How it looked when I got it.
Pics from this weekend.

Back on the road! I got her running Sunday night. Took it to the car wash tonight after work to spray off engine and check for leaks. I rebuilt a junkyard head with HD intake/exhaust valve seals, upgraded to a MLS head gasket and ARP bolts. I'm sure glad Casey mentioned that Scirroco 16v was at Colorado in the junk yard thread. So far so good.

Went for a drive and just enjoyed the sound of the stg IV grenade that I finally got in this week, plus was in awe my new oil cooler and the sub 200° oil temps after a spirited run.
