You want to use an automotive grade contact cement. All the pros use this stuff for upholstery. The adhesive is sold by a pint or gallon usually. Spray application is easiest, so you'll need a compressor and a cheap gun with a larger tip. You can also use a brush for smaller jobs.
There are a few brands, but the last stuff I used was made by 3M. B-D sells it here in town:Make sure you prep that headliner board, after you get done putting the 6-7 pieces of the thing back together(use fiberglass!!). VW really cheaped out on them. I recommend a metal brillo pad...it removes that old glue residue like a charm.

Wednesday I put in the rest of the bolts holding my transmission to my engine, and started working on the mounts. Thursday I finished the D/S and front mount. Friday I put the transmission mount in and torqued down all the mount bolts and connecting bolts, started putting the starter in. today I started working on putting the linkages back together and reconnecting all electrical and vacuum lines. tomorrow will finish tightening down bolts and finish linkages, along with starter, hopefully will have it moving.
Insert witty comment here.

Got it running again. Redid the timing belt (guess it was off a few teeth from when I originally bought it). New plugs and wires, rotor and cap. Flushed the radiator, replaced the upper rad hose (thermostat was stuck closed, the upper rad hose was swelling to twice it's original diameter haha). And I set the timing (though I think it's off, doesn't seem right).Anyways, the caddy is finally running again, and amazingly well compared to what it was before haha.
