I need 2 raintrays for a mk1. Preferably the longer a/c type. Make it happen.

It seems that there are more people interested in the A/C version as it covers the larger a/c/ stuff in the rain tray and can also be used on non-AC cars. That's what we will shoot for.

Keep the input/voting and I'll keep this updated with info.

I would want at least 2 of the longer version. I was wondering if the longer version could be lengthen a inch or two?

I'll definitely take one. I have one which Is Intact but In bad shape. I can have one made out of any metal material due to one of my catering contacts(Pres. of the sheet metal workers union) who has fabbed me up a bunch of Items already but I just don't know how It would look. Thin Aluminum sheeting and then sent to the powder coater???
Bought it!!!!! That's why it runs you jerkies!!!!

Is there any updates on this or am I going to have to talk my fiberglass buddy into making a mold of this? lol

He does great fiberglass work! He learned from his father who made boats.

Just the way my luck has been running, I give up my rain tray for the sake of science, the rag gets pressed into DD duty, and then it rains!! <- this I remembered 30 miles from home...

I rushed today to finish sealing up my Mk2 airbox, just managed to get it done, but the rest of the car is not together (seats, console etc) but watertight so I can move it out and the Mk1 in. Now the big rain is coming down...

...and by the way, I was down for a raintray.

If these go well then we will consider doing the S2 version also.

We will update with a price after the physical mold has been CNC'd.

me either! Thanks for the response. We are shooting for spring but will keep updating this as things progress.

One question, would everyone want the trays to have the clear VIN windows like the originals (a bit more time and material so probably a bit more in cost) or would a totally smooth tray be better?

Only up to '80. '81s are stamped into the raintray.

    I vote no window.

ah, well, then, since most of the S1's *don't* have it on the raintray, I vote no window

I'll take 3 none windows and a couple with. But if you want to mould them with the moulding for a window, but it not fitted, I'm more than happy to cut out and add my own window, if it helps!

Window or no window; either is OK by me. Have you thought about maybe doing a 'window detent', make the mold with a small, slightly lowered area in the window position? I'm thinking it could then be cut out if so desired and a piece of transparent plastic glued in.

Is there at least a rough guesstimate on pricing?

Thanks for all the suggestions! We decided to not do the window to try and keep costs down. If there is a demand for a window in the future we'll see when we get there. No estimated price point yet.

I would say no window for the S1 version.
I'd be down for a S2 version, but would need a window.
