I do hate how the water drips onto the door card when you crack a window open while raining. It's especially bad on the driver's front window, where the wiper pushes extra water over the A pillar and to the door window. I don't think I'd ever install these though... partly because I'd be worried about damage to the paint over time. I'm sure they're very practical though

I recently purchased the bi-zenon headlights from ECS and installed them into my 2009 2.5 jsw. I have already spent $1,500 dollars on everything but i have come into a problem when i turn the car half way on they turn on just fine. However, when i start up the car they start to flicker and shut down on me ECS says i might need to buy the HIGH LINE LIGHTING CONTROL MODULE or the vag-com to program them i was wondering if anyone has had the same problem i need some insight and fast because i leave for school on the 18th!!

    THANK YOU!!

Just so you are aware the install inside the window channel and will never touch your paint. Just sayin'. Really like flying down the 101 on a rainy day with the windows cracked and staying dry on the inside.

    next time do your research

Yes, you need the highline CECM, and VCDS to change the coding. Replacing the CECM is pretty simple.. just have to pull a panel under the dash, unplug the wires, remove old CECM, install new CECM, plug things back in... basically.

Did you just get the front pair or is the rear compatible with the JSW?

Have the full set. The rear do have a little bit of adhesive (1/4 double sided tape) to hold them in place not really needed. Like I said they are a friction fit inside the window channel so initial install is a bit tight till things stretch to allow everything work together. Have had them on for over a year and 75K miles with no issues. Back on pg 82 of this thread is a photo of my wagon with these installed. Hope that this helps.

My cruise control has ceased working. Upon checking it with VCDS, I got the error message in the title. It tells me the date, the time, the mileage and the engine speed when the failure occurred.
I checked it with VCDS and I can see the numbers change in the log when I switch it on and off. I can also see the operation of the clutch switch.
Does anyone know a) how and why the cruise fails, b) whether it is related to the operation of the brake switch and/or clutch switch? I know in previous models, a clutch adjustment was necessary to restore a situation where the cruise control stopped working.
    Thanks!

My cruise failed on my CC, might be the same system, but for what it is worth the speedo with a exclamation sign was stuck in the dash. Turned out to just be the cruise control switch in the dash.

mine is the switch on the same stalk as the turn signals. for now, the 340$ or so for repair will stay in my pocket. I will source a used stalk.

My car got butt probed by a Mustang, hit and run style. Could have been worse, as that's mostly his paint.

    What's winter?

Mine should be going in for a fix, along with finishing the fenders, and the new suspension in a month or so. Waiting on the new struts.

    Good morning,
My buddy and I were comparing RPMs at 70 MPH and he is revving some 250-290 RPMs lower at 70MPH than I am. He has a 2010 Golf Sportwagen and I have an '09 Jetta Sportwagen. I had heard that the 6th gear ratio had been changed from 09 to 10, but that much? I went into VCDS and swapped my Distance Multiplier from 05 to 07 (he claims there is a setting for 08, but there isn't on the 09).
Can some of you more knowledgeable drivers out there check and see what your engine speed is at 70, please? Mine is about 2190 RPMs and his is about 1900. Cheers.

sucks about the hit, but i love the single tip exhaust. i would love to shave the valance and run a polished turn down, but its just too much of a project. now if i can just find a set of OEM accessory tips that WONT fly off on the freeway i'll be in business lol
