Are you talking about the ProContact or DWS? Huge difference - love my DWS' on my Jetta and will hate the ProContact's on the GSW until they wear out this summer.

So each time you start to move forward, change gears from a down shift to accelerate, whatever would cause the subframe to knock back and forth, it's the OEM VW bolts that have always come up short because they have a cut/out in the center of the bolt that allows the subframe to knock.

    More info here: http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthrea...ubframe......&

So pervasive is the problem that ECS even sells the bolts as a kit with spacers that space the subframe by about 1/16"

Not that I need to be looking for any new "toys"...

If the subframe is an issue, is something like this worth adding along with the bolts:

    http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthrea...l-in-stock-now!

And for engine and transmission mounts:

    http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthrea...ion-Mounts-***

Most of this is mentioned in the context of the 2.0t engine, but I'd assume some of this would be TDI relevant, too. (Also 2.5s)

Run out is a non technical term for uneven wear
which results in what looks like a vertical 'wobble'.
Feathering is the term the dealer gave me when they
did the alignment. I guess it is again a non technical term
for uneven wear caused by tire pressure, load, balance, all
those things which cause tires to wear unevenly. Best I consult:
    Google or a tire expert.

what size are you running right now? :225-45/17

So there is lateral runout and radial runout which are deviations from
tire roundness, mine is radial resulting in a small yet pronounced hop.
Feathering is where each tread develops both a round edge on one side
a sharp edge on the other side. This is usually caused by incorrect toe-in setting.

I have 2010 JSW TDI. Lots of good ideas on what one would like to do to their car. So far I installed an AFE cold air intake and the Banks Monster exhaust. Still mulling over what kind of wheels I'd like to put on but, I don't really want to lower it either. Suggestions are welcome .

Here's my car in Key West last year-it looks right at home too.

I put an LED in there, kind of a bluish tint. I like it.

The wheels are Work Gnosis GS2, fronts are 19x9 and the rear are 19x10.5 et35 all the way around.
I am running 225 35 Dunlop Direzzas up front and 245 35 Direzzas in the back.

Like Toe Ball said I have KSport control pro coils on the car that allow me to adjust the camber in the front, without them it would be pretty hard to pull these wheels off.

They are for sale though, $1500 plus shipping.

Someone on TDIClub was wrong, which is unusual! I got it from ECS Tuning. I will post a picture. It took all of five minutes to install both bulbs.

They're O-Z Mito reps. The Miro branded reps have been discontinued for a while, someone else must be making them.

ahh... you just mentioned Continental, and most people here are running DWS's. The ExtremeContact DWS tires are the only Continental tires I'd run right now. The DWS is just about the best wet traction tire you can buy, and definitely one of the best all-around tires you can run.. especially for the price. Any other tire Continental offers is easily beat by something else, from what I've seen (but then, I tend to only look at only the best performance ranges these days.. ie. extreme performance summer, ultra high performance all season, etc. I have no reason to get tires that aren't as good as possible.)

These are 'blesk' LEDs sourced from fleabay.

I have taken them out. They blow. They throw codes. You can clear the light by cycling your euro switch-everyone has a euro switch, right?-to park and then back off. It seems the LEDs don't have enough load to please the test cycle run when you turn the car on sometimes. But once you energize them the load is okay.

I would not do it again. The look is not worth it, IMO.
