    got some new parts!
Mutiny Lucky Strike 21.25 to replace my beat up and dented fit S3
    some big chrome bars
used rear freecoaster wheel, khe street on a proper rim. thing is weird to ride, and i'm not pumped i have to take it apart to adjust the slack, but at least i didn't pay for it new! i'll probably get used to it pretty quick.
riding it today was interesting. it's way different than the last setup, but its fun, and i'm back to no brakes for a while.

I just got the new Eastern Wonder Years bars (9"rise, 30"wide) and I love them. I had to get longer gyro cables though (yes I still run a gyro, I can't follow all the trends )

so many people ride gyros, van homan rides a gyro, sean burns probably rides one, gary young rides one, anyone who rides brakes rides a gyro so they can throw the bars with the brakeless kids. look through a magazine, they're everywhere. srsly

i think sean burns rocks a straight cable. he still runs 44-16 gearing, too. i took off the gyro when i went brakeless this summer, now i'm back to brakes (i want to bomb some hills & i'm too much of a wuss to do that without brakes) & my gyro sits in a box because i'm sick of them. i've been running one for about 10 years. time to get back to basics. odyssey linear slic cable FTW! i'm sure the brakes will come back off before too long when i'm riding more park, i just kinda like riding street with brakes, i don't have to think ahead as much & i can be more spontaneous.

don't grab as well as the shorter cable did with my shorter bars. I don't know how to dial it in so it is tight.

i'd just make sure that the 4 barrel adjusters on the gyro side are adjusted so there's a little tension holding the gyro in place. i've always found that dual-cable setups work a whole hell of a lot better than the split-cable systems, especially as the cables get longer (not sure why) so i might look into that if it's really bad.

Does anyone have a 26T sprocket laying around I can have? I've got a 25T Animal SprockyBalboa on there now that I can trade. I just bought it a month ago and has been riden maybe 10 times but I think I want one more tooth for more power! I also have a 22T SprockyBalboa. I'll trade either for a 26T...

Figured it out, I had the spacers between the stem and the upper gyroplate, and the smaller spacer should have been below it. Now its nice!

    Thanks for the help Sarge!

yeah no problem, i'm thinking about getting a gyro setup on my now spare series 3, i'm trying to learn bar spins on my mutiny, hard trick to try but once you get it, it's a lot easier.

Just put a set of Tioge powerBlock "S" tires on my race bike, the comp III's were horrible at the indoor track last week. Kept sliding out in the first big sweeper.

anyone want to trade me a set of LHD cranks w/19mm spindle for a set of pretty nice LHD twombolts w/bottom bracket?
    or..
anyone know how to get a really f'in stuck mid bb out? i've been hammering for like an hour and all i came away with is a bruised left hand, neither bearing moved even a little.

You are such a trendy LHD b!t(h

Seriously, you could heat the BBshell up (not too hot or you lose some of your chromoly properties) and the bearing should come out. I personally would not do that, I would just take a dead blow hammer and whack it against a piece of wood(which is of course positioned so it would be pushing the bearing out the opposite side. And not to insult your intelligence but make sure you do not actually have a threaded EuroBB. Were mids ever threaded?

nope, mids weren't threaded. a little heat would help loosen it up if you're careful. just pound around the edges in a circle, if you're hammering in one spot, it'll never come out. i have a set of lhd/rhd primo cranks i'd trade, but they're 22mm...still good cranks, though. i need to go to lhd, not to be "trendy", but because i'm sick of breaking chains. i always wanted to go lhd back in the day, but nobody made lhd parts then, now they do & i'm stoked! but i'm also poor, so my rhd profile hub will have to do for now

do you grind on it? I run a halflink that is pretty beefy, probably adds a million pounds to my bike though. Since I can't grind anything, i never break it.

hey hey!! i only have pegs on my right side and i'm sick of breaking sh!t!!! LHD is function, i never knew it was trendy! (can't say the same about much of the rest of my bike though...)

yup. its a mid. i put the bike together. it's a fit, and they never used threaded BBs. mid has always been just the bearings out of american cups.. so no threads for sure. it's just been in there for a few years... and i think it may have gotten rather comfortable in there. i guess i'll try heat, as the heaviest hammer i have has done nothing for me. it also might by my little weak arms. the trade offer is still on the table. haha.
