That GTI would be perfect if it didn't have the red interior.

Issue: Garage door has been open the last 3 days and our cars werent there.

Does anyone in the Ewa area or any other suburbs for that matter have issues with other people in the area having the same garage door openers? I know they run on a commercial frequency and eventually sometimes someone might have a remote with the same frequency. Does anyone know how to protect yourself from this?

You could always disconnect the door from the chain... Just press the button to cycle the door open and closed (make sure it runs the whole cycle) and that'd do it. Pain in the ass but it'd work!

I guess there is a lock button inside the garage, but not on my remote.

Early December. I'm on the last lift. So hopefully make it out to the GTGs before then.

craftsman has a receiver that you wire in and comes with a remote with rolling code. Don't know if it works with all brands of openers.

Break out the volt meter. Are you getting voltage to the starter? Have you tried jumping the starter with a screwdriver (make sure it's out of gear)? Are the battery terminals tight and clean? All grounds connected?

    Is this an 8v or a 16v?

Its 16v..Did not have a volt meter at that moment...and how do you jump the starter with screwdriver-never done it before. and the battery terminals were tight and clean and its also the cleanness engine bay I've seen for a 22 yr old car. I'll try talking to my girl's dad if he can talk to her uncle so I can take a look and try getting it started. Sux her uncle is leaving tmrw really wanted to get it off his hands when I saw it.

Yeah mine is Craftsman as well. For right now, the lock is working for me. Cannot use the remotes or plug on the wall until you disable it from inside the garage.

BTW, finally someone with a post count around these parts

how do you jump the starter with screwdriver-never done it before.

Follow the positive lead (it's a chubby wire) from the battery to the starter solenoid. There's a second wire on the starter solenoid, and that's from your ignition switch. Use the blade of a flathead screwdriver to bridge the two. Yes, it will throw a little spark, so keep your hand on the screwdriver handle.

If it doesn't crank, your starter is probably screwed (you can take the starter to Checker afterwards and they will test it for free).

If it does crank, then you need to check the ignition switch side of the system.

Alright, thanks I'll go talk to my girl's uncle if I can look at the car one more time

Haha, no. Felt pretty bad for Shawna though a few weeks ago. She went to the bar that just opened up here and some dude straight up man-punched her in the stomach and chest then kicked her in the knee. Pretty funny sounding to say it, but messed up that a dude would do that to her.

Yeah, I felt pretty bad for her. It was kind of funny to listen to her tell the story about it though because she was WASTED. About every thirty seconds she'd say, "Did I tell you I got punched twice and kicked once!? Yeah he hit me in my stomach and chest, RIGHT HERE, then kicked me in my knee! See the mark!? Do you wanna make out?" Thirty seconds of silence and then the same story over and over.
