Redline Speed Worx Presents: "Shop Life"

We have decided to create a thread that we will continually maintain and up-date with what we here at RSW call "Shop Life". It will portray the day-to-day customer work, projects, events and anything else we find worthy of the VW Vortex Community.

To start the thread off with something exciting; over the past two days we have been working on a customers' MKV FSI GTI. The owner is running a Upgraded Turbo system that utilizes a GT3071 Turbocharger.

In his quest to make more power and go faster, RSW is currrently upgrading the Stock OEM engine Internals with Forged Rods, custom JE pistons, and ARP's newly released Head Studs for some extra clamping force. Were hoping that he will really be able to lay down both good power and some solid track times.

Pistons are out ! We are about to start filing the new rings to get the new JE Pistons into the engine.

The white MKV GTI we Installed a nice set of FK coilovers on the previous day, had her inside tucked in for the night

Been staying out of trouble keeping busy the past few days. Been installing quite a few APR HPFP, and all I can say is what a beautiful product.

Can't beat a timely install, and a quick re-flash and seeing a customers eye's light up as they rip down the street in front of the shop!

Had a customer's car in the shop the other day and this was on the windshield... DAAAMMMMNNN

Had this B7 in the shop for an estimate on a APR stage 3 and a little special sauce engine build...

Got a little bit of time in to work on the race car this weekend... well more like "prep" work for the cage fab...

A set of Custom Spec JE Forged Pistons and Brute rods ready for installation...

Finally for today some headers ready to go into one of our customer's porsches

Another Busy week here at Redline.... Had a beautiful 2006 Porsche Cayman S in the shop for a few days. Installed entire new APR Exhaust System which included Headers, Cat deletes, and new mufflers. We also flashed a Fully Loaded ECMS upgrade. The owners was amazed with the quality of the upgraded power and the sound of the exhaust !

mmmm 20's fit pretty nice on this unit

Can't beat the $15,000 Carbon Ceramic Brake Upgrade!

OEM exhaust system out, looks pretty good for only 11,000 miles on it.

The new Sexy-ness

Did some diagnosis on an older E Class Benz

Installed a few sets of coilovers this week

Completely Rebuilt the entire Suspension on this Mark 4. Coils, sways, wheel bearings / hubs, control arm bushings. She rides tight like prom night !

Got her up on 3 wheels pulling her out of the front of the shop

Late night last night working on our new employees Evo. His Triple Disc Clutch setup was starting to fall apart, I guess 700AWHP will do that

Since we broke our Trans jack and are still waiting for the new one to come we put Shrek (JR) to work !

Nothing too exciting going on the past few days, diag work, brakes, 40k Services.

On an exciting note sold an APR Stage 3 with intercooler, fuel pump, and full exhaust yesterday, so were excited to get that on the road for the customer.

We got our new Miller TIG machine all setup with our Water-Cooler....

Pulled an 02Q apart this morning for inspection. Everything looked to be in order, just waiting on the Differential to show up. Hopefully the Quaife works well

can you pm me an estimate as to how much it would be to open my transmission up and verify that everything is ok?(like about) it's been shifting weird lately and i don't know if i just need to change the transmission fluid or if somethings broken.. let me know

Finally able to get my electrician to the shop today to wire up my new IR Compressor. It will be so nice not to hear the old compressor running in the other room. New compressor has its own Condo outside the shop !

Nothing too exciting to report to everyone the past few days. Alot of regular maintenance services, a few timing belts, recently been completely rebuilding front end suspension components on numerous Mark 4s.

Trying to get everything in order for H20 next week. Not to mention we have an APR Stage 3, SBC Stage 3 Clutch System, and full suspension install to complete for a customer before we leave for Ocean City !

We have also been just finishing up our Mark 5 GTI Big Brake kits

I want to add a Neuspeed RSB on a 2009 Jetta TDI wagon and was wondering how much of an improvement over the stock unit would it be? Nothing else modded. Can I also get a quote for the labor as well as parts and labor? If you want to PM me the prices I understand.

Lightweight Race modified. Looks like somebody is going to the track tonight ! Have a fresh 5 Gallon Drum of VP MS 109 !

Hopefully the weather will be nice tonight, should see lows around 50, PERFECT Track temp!

We also starting getting the GTI ready for H20. It will be up Front & Center in APR's Tent

Jon is bringing his GTI as well ( its only APR Stage 1 ) so they will both be making passes in both cars

We finally got an un-sprung hub for our SBC Clutch setup, and the car shifts like butter, so hopefully will be able to run a few quick passes.

Randy stopped by the shop earlier this week and told me about Todd's 10.4 pass. Sounds awesome.

Will be leaving to go down to Englishtown around 5pm
