Thread: BFI - Motor Mounts - Polyurethane solutions for your MkIV 1.8T/VR6/2.0L/1.9TDi

  1. 08-25-2009 01:09 PM #1

We are proud to offer our complete line of performance motor mounts for all MkIV 1.8T/2.0L/1.9TDi and most VR6 applications. Our line of mounts is unlike any other poly options available. They are produced from a two part liquid cast system in several durometers. This results in both a more uniform product as well as a more durable one.

Though MkIV's tolerate performance mounts better than older VW chassis, it should be noted that different motors will react differently to the stages. The 1.8T/2.0L/1.9TDi engines both weighs less and are positioned differently than the VR6's. In general, the 4-cylinder engines will experience more vibration than the VR6's with the same mounts. Please check the descriptions on our website for our recommendations.

To see our entire portfolio of Mk4 engine mounts, .

Please post here, PM, or email us at: sales@blackforestindustries.com with any questions.

Actually, our Stage 1 for the Mk4 is basically the same durometer as our Stage .5 for Mk3's. We just decided to change the nomenclature for Mk4's to make it simpler.

We do however, plan on offering a Stealth material for Mk4 applications that will be softer than their Stage 1 brethren, 50a for the Stealth as opposed to the 65a for Stage 1.

If our Poly mounts raise your engine at all, it will be because it has sagged over time due to deterioration of the factory rubber mounts

How is the vibration from the stage 1 drop in poly mounts?

Can you please be more specific about which mount(s) and what vehicle you are asking about?

Stage 1 are fairly conservative by themselves, but do get more noticeable when used together

Vibes are noticeable upon startup and during idling with a full Mk4 BFI Stage 1 setup. Slight resonance is felt through the RPM range but is not obnoxious.

is there any benefit to getting the full dogbone over just the insert?

The Assembled Dogbones offer a brand new OE mount with a new rubber trans bushing and our already-installed BFI Poly Dogbone bushings. The assembled mounts take the hassle out of dealing with the insert install and offer a cleaner, newer, and easier way to take advantage of our Polyurethane

I run the dog bone and trans mounts. Love them Smooth as glass stage 2. Now if you offered the VR6 engine mount I'd be all over it.

When are the Mk4 Stage 1 engine mounts going to be back in stock?
