Just thought I'd pop in to say I got the dogbone mount stage 1 bushings for my 2.0, and real quick, here's how it is:

Intake and cat-back, busted up autotragic, failing axles, and some budget coilovers. Turns out the dogbone itself is snapped in half, but somehow the bolt running through it is still alright Since installing the stage 1 mounts, the car's much more responsive, and still very comfortable to ride in, with minimal vibration.

I'm about to start my 5 speed swap, so I'm really excited to see how the mounts work out with a proper dogbone, and real transmission.

    Short version, these mounts =

Have your Stage 2 dog bone mount and love it. Waiting on your Stage 1 Trans mount to come in the mail as we speak . Need it by Wednesday morning, unfortunately it will be delivered sometime during that day. So I'm going to have fun trying to pick it up from UPS asap . Not your fault though. Love your products, can't wait to put this one on. Then later, Stage 1 engine mount

Installed 10 days ago. Went with Stage 2 vs. Stage 1 per phone conversation with BFI.

    -Could not be happier.

-All the positives claimed verified. Vibration on VR negligable (maybe a slight vibration on hard exceleration to be described more as feedback than anything else)

-The only negative: Now i see no possible way not to replace the bushings for the tranny mount and replace the engine mount....

BFI please have a sale soon! any way to get the bundle discount or is it too late if i bought the dogbone inserts already????

Thank you for your advice and quality products... a true one stop shop

I installed the BFI Stage 1 mounts, Motor/Tranny/Dogbone.

BFI customer service is great, they keep me updated on where my package was after it shipped (via email)

Only question about the mounts, I'm getting horrible vibrations. I understand they are harder rubber but from 1-3k RPM's it drones and 3-5K it feels like my teeth are about to rattle out. I drove 300 miles figuring they may need to break in a little, then I also re-torqued the bolts but there is no difference except my enitre interior rattles as well now Am I doing something wrong? There were no instructions, but the installation on the mounts are pretty straight forward.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

This is not typical of our Stage 1 mounts. Stage 1 mounts are by far our most popular for the Mk4 platform.
I would double check installation to ensure everything is installed correctly.
While doing so, check to be sure the upper bolt in the center of the mount is tightened to 40ft/lbs.

I just installed all the stg 1 mounts on my 1.8t. The whole car vibrates and the steering wheel shakes violently above 60 mph while on the gas. Is this an alignment problem or something else besides the mounts? People say they vibrate but this seems extreme?
_Speed has never killed anyone......its suddenly becoming stationary...That's what gets you."
_If I pull this handbrake lever all my girlfriends clothes will come off!!!

You may experience vibration when upgrading to a stiffer performance motor mount but it typically isn't related to your speed. It should more be relative to your rpm range. You may want to double check your installation and make sure all the mounts and hardware are torqued down to spec.

Just wanted to follow up on my previous post.

I've driven about 5,000 miles with these mounts and 90% of the vibrations have gone away, the motor feels tight but still have some give which is nice.

Interior rattles are another story, but after my mounts were fully broken in they feel great.

No worries, you guys no doubt had a busy weekend. Maybe you can answer, it's just a simple question: is your Stage 1 poly back in stock for MK4 applications?

All mounts designs are the same and will fit ALH and BEW diesel engine codes. Sorry, no pictures.
