so my stuff from tmtuning finally arrived. got my scirocco/cc/mk6 euro switch w/ the silver accent along with my dash tray. already installed the euro switch but havent programmed it for the parking lights yet. ill get some pictures once i have the tray in.

i also took off the roofrack, it'll go back on once some snow starts accumulating. its really weird looking at the car now. i havent seen it without the roofrack since before i put the wheels on over 3 months ago. kinda looks sporty now...

and the wheels i was thinking about possibly picking up. never seen em before.

well no one has even offered me anything for them, so i dont know how fast they are going anywhere. and if i cant sell the sc's then i cant buy the mercs. im not baller enough to have 3 sets of wheels hangin around.

edit: if they dont sell, then they will be a winter project. im just not sure what i want to do with them. polish, paint, both... idk

Please post some pics what the euro switch does. Does it turn ON the small bulb in the high beam without turning on all the lights?

once i get it programmed ill post pictures. as of right now, im not sure what it does. i just wanted it for the improved aesthetics and the option of running fogs and parking lights.

i got bored. all this talk about wheels made me want to change mine up. so i pulled out the trusty plasti-dip, and painted two covers. kept the lexus symbol chrome through.

and the car without the covers and no roofrack.

It's really easy. I'll see if I have time to write you up something to make it easy for you.

There's a DIY on how to take the dash out and etc.... I'll type it up on your other tread.

It looks good with the 430 wheels. What did you have to do to mount them up? Is the bolt patter the same? Did you need a hub ring?

    I wouldn't change a thing.

    I wouldn't change a thing.

the bolt pattern is 5x114.3, ours is 5x112. i had a choice between goin with an adapter that would make the wheels poke or just use the wobble bolts i had sitting in my room and have them tuck a little. i went with what i thought would be the cheaper route. i had to then have them drilled to accept the conical wobble bolts since lexus uses flat faced nuts. and i had to grab some hubcentric rings, 57.1-60(.1) which are not very easy to find.

all in all, it ended up costing me a little more than adapters and i ended up with a less epic stance. lesson learned.

those merc wheels are Mandrus Emils

a few guys rock em. they're what the TSW Holsten's were modeled after, and similar to the A8 monoblocks.

I'm always right. The sooner you realize this, the easier things will be.

    (VW)'s I've retired: '69 Type 2 Panel, '88 Scirocco 8v, '89 Scirocco 16v, '92 GTI 16v, '91 Jetta VR6, '00 Audi A4, '94 Passat Wagon, '59 Type 2 Single Cab,'67 Type 2 Double Cab...

Looks badass with the painted centers. To get the vent off the dash just slide something plastic (old credit card/bondo spreader etc.) under the edge and work it around, the vent will just pop out. You also have to remove the little plastic bit around the adjustment wheel
