What makes you say 89? I did notice it had a black parcel shelf when it's supposed to be gray and the seats look like they're from a 91-92. it's also red inside the sunroof...?
I caught this trailer during the Steelers game today, here's a longer version of it:
New Steven Soderbergh film called "Haywire", looks terrible. At 2:20 in this video you see a big door, small bumper black GTI on snowflakes. Looks to be the highlight of the movie
In "20 years after" a movie about 20 years after nuclear war and a whole lot of other things happen to the world a mk2 4 door golf is rusted to hell and hidden behind when a guy is shot at.
Mk1 cabby in disney original movie "Geek Charming" is the main guys car. And it breaks down. lol
In the tv show "The Office" in season 8 episode 3, the cold open has them break into an early mk2 jetta. There's a dog in the car they're trying to save.
The car ends up getting a window smashed, tail light smashed, and having a slushy or something poured all over the inside.
It's actually pretty funny.
There is a documentary about cold blooded crook, who originaly had nicname "50 cent" back in the 80's. Documentary called "The Original 50 cent". In the documentary was mentioned that he had a gold jetta.
"Draped in gold, with his pockets full of cash and pimping a tricked-out Volkswagen Jetta, 50 Cent's lust for material wealth turned his friends into victims and, in turn, tarnished his name."
The blues ain't nothin' but a good man feelin' bad.
