    Damn Gberg888GLI! Thanks for posting the pics, those are sweet! I like those better than mine!

    Do you have time to do a DIY for how you did the holes (post install I know that might be difficult). Could you at least take some closeup day shots so we can see how you drilled them? What kinda fogs are those?

    Again, congrats, very nice.

    Thanks....

    The base was an ECS Fog light kit.

    I just measured out how far apart i wanted the LEDs, then used a dremel drill press to do the holes...

    I then wired the LEDs, each one was individually wired to the next in a string...

    Then the main wires for ground and power were run to the wires on the fog, then a switch was put in.

    ~~~~~
    Some notes:
    Be careful when drilling the holes, some of mine were off and not directly on the apex of the curve making some LEDs look off or less bright...
    Same idea: some of the LED bulbs didnt fall properly in place and are aimed awkwardly.
    At first i did nothing with the bare wires showing behind, but then they started to rust so i got some silicone sealant and put it over the wires covering the entire piece on back. as u can sort of see in one of the shots.
    Im looking for a way to get the light to refract better... i think a drop of hot glue would do the trick, but i dont know how to do it in a way which it would stay clear and good.
    Im thinking of buying a new set and re doing it entirely.... because i have exp now it wouldnt be bad.
    ::::::: Mod Name: Glove Box LED Lights
    ::::::: Why Worth It: Easier to find things in the dark. regular glove light is too dim.
    ::::::: Cost: $5-$10 for 5mm Wide Angle 12V LEDs-i used White.
    ::::::: Where to buy: Ebay
    ::::::: Time required: 1 Hour
    ::::::: Difficulty: 2/10
    ::::::: DIY: http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=958556
    Step 1: Once Glove box is out drill holes in Glove box. Hole diameter to match LED diameter. i used 5 LEDs and it was plenty bright.
    Step 2: Seat All LEDs and Crazy Glue them. Splice all red wires together and all Blacks together.Then splice the wires into the stock glove box light
    Step 3: Splice into Stock Glove box light.
    Step 4: Turn ignition key to ACC and test. reinstall Glovebox.
    i removed my stock light because theres no need for it anymore, plus the hole that is there now i use for my ipod cable.
    x2, the stock glove box bulb could also be replaced with LED but it won't really help IMO since it is stuck on the side, this DIY solve the awkward VW design, well done, doing it
    ::::::: Mod Name: Airride compressor box
    ::::::: Why Worth It: It saves you from a lot of compressor noise
    ::::::: Cost: approx. 300$
    ::::::: Where to buy: -
    ::::::: Time required: A few days of work
    ::::::: Difficulty: Medium
    ::::::: DIY:
    i've made it from 19mm MDF wood ( don't know what is called in english)
    I've made it soundproof by sticking a vibraflex damping mat...
    It contains a bit of lead and is heatproof.
    This sounddeadening material wasn't cheap that's why the price was that high!
    But offcourse you could use any sounddeadening material which is meant to remove those low frequency bass noises that a compressor makes.
    The grey foam was used to reduce the less noticable high frequency noises!
    If you've made the box airtight, it doesn't directly hit the metal anywhere it should remove several decibels!
    I'll make a video of the difference in sound when opening or closing the lid.
    This is the woodenbox that exactly fits in the spare tyreroom....
    After you've finished up the woodenbox, make the baseboard that will fit tight on the floor of your trunk. (don't forget a few rubber pieces to remove hitting-materials transfer noises).
    Mount the woodenbox to the baseboard, fit all your airride components and finally make a lid and cover it with leather or carpet!
    ::::::: Picture(s):
    halfway finished:
    At my job we sell a sound deadening material called homasoate. Its compressed fiber similar to blow in insullation found in houses. Its a hard board that comes in 4x8 sheets. It sould be a cheap alternative as part of the write up above. Costs about 30 dollars U.S. a sheet. Look it up on the internet. Anyone have questions on it, pm me ill be more then happy to give a hand
    Not really, behind the bumper there is a (stock) hole which we've opened up to put the lines through. The compressor can get fresh air from that!
    I've been driving 85.000 km's with this air install and never had problems!
    ::::::: Where to buy: Ebay ( I used them, http://myworld.ebay.com/77884sales/ , they shipped out the same day with UPS and it arrived 2 days later, but any 1 foot LED strip will work)
    ::::::: DIY:
    Pry out the existing housing from the side closest to you ( a thin screwdriver works best )
    Take it out and unclip the harness:
    I clipped the wires from the harness (black is power, for some reason, brown is ground). (Typically, red is power and black is ground, there must have been an idiot behind the electronics)
    Tuck all the excess wires in nicely, make sure all exposed wiring is covered up
    Put the housing back on the way it came off
    LED's in the glove box
    This was the absolute first thing I did, they wouldn't stop rattling when I listened to music...
    If you don't want to cut them you can work the entire metal piece out off the plastic piece it attaches too. Takes a little persuasion though, but then its not irreversible.
